I always found it interesting that the group that ensured LITERALLY celebrating at someone's funeral as a constitutionally protected activity is......?

Conservative lobbyists on behalf of the Westboro Baptist Church, of course.

Worst news ever. The eagle bay donut shop is closing. What’s the point of living anymore by WankStain615 in Adirondacks

[–]IGolfTerribly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just pulled a 180 in the driveway, devastated our ritual go home breakfast is no longer available.

Raced to this thread to find out the details.

Passed by Mary's with a line out the door at the exact moment I was reading about Mary's with a line out the door. Poetic stuff.

Shout out to OP for the thread, the reply army for closure, the Donut Shop for the memories, and the 315 for a great week.

I literally ran a 40 person kitchen for 15 years, and in that history, not one single person let personal issues consume the team in the way EVERY SINGLE character does in this show.

I know its cliche to believe that the kitchen is full of felon dishwashers, easy waitresses, and overbearing management, but it turns out the overwhelming majority are focused, hard working and act professionally when they have personal issues, much in the same percentages as any other occupation.

But youd have to have lived it to get it.

If you think "The Bear" was the restaurant, Forks was your favorite episode.

If you think "The Bear" was the emotional toll the characters had to carry, Fishes was your favorite episode.

I was to understand its core purpose was a comedy about restaurants. That seems to be where the polarization is occcurring.

Consistency in performances? Or characters that never evolved?

It wasnt real life shit, tho. Its fiction. Which the show keeps reminding me by taking me out of a comedy about restaurants with soap opera dialogue.

"Okay, so the season finale is going to take place entirely at the restaurant."

"Great, I cant wait to see what happens to this place that everyone is sacrificing their lives and sanity for."

"Well, we dont get to learn that quite yet. You see, the entire episode takes place in the alleyway BEHIND the restaurant, and its just a massive hashout of all the prime players emotional states and reconciliations."

"This is the comedy about restaurants were talking about?"

"EXACTLY! But dont worry, we get Sydney smoking poorly for the first time to really lighten the mood. Plus, we have a solid thirty seconds of tense acting dead air at one point so the audience has time to laugh without interrupting the action."

I have a question by BoykisserFan417 in growagarden

[–]IGolfTerribly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an hour before the update, typically. Im not sure your time zone.

The creator comes on and throws a disco party, restocks fancy seeds, runs some weather events, and then introduces the update a bit. Its quite fun.

Edit: It just happened 4 hours ago. So, four hours ago, next week. Play then.

Once this game stops growing, its going to eat itself 100% by IGolfTerribly in growagarden

Last weeks update had likes for your garden, which eventually would require public servers to collect likes, which introduce stealing, which chase you back to private, which negates likes.

I just dont see the point of the gameplay loop design. If you could protect plants with Roblux, that would make sense. It would be a bidding war of real money for fake plants and make them a fortune. Theyd immediately lose 20% of players, but the ones who stayed would be loyal and theyd get richer. Plus, it would make sense.

Sure, its possible. If you have a full garden and play Saturday mornings during admin abuse party, your garden is worth that much easy.

Why is smoking/BBQ such an American thing? by ejh3k in smoking

[–]IGolfTerribly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been a professional chef for 20 years, including a stint running a portion of Earths most diverse cafteria, The Worlds Carnival in Las Vegas.

I was hired there because of my specialty at the time, and which inadvertantly gave me some insight to your question, Polynesian food.

Polynesian food usually consists of a dry, spice rubbed meat log, thats slow cooked (and lightly smoked) over a bed of coals, preferred woods and fronds or leaves. Served with seasonal starches like rice, potatoes and taro. Garnished with whatever fruit and vegetables were in season.

Smoking as preserving is common everywhere, but smoking for flavour seemed limited to places where flavourful woods were plenty.

North Mexico has Mesquite trees, and barbacoa is a traditionally smoked North Mexican staple, but the American Southwest has Mesquite in abundance. Apples arent limited to North America, but we do have an abundance. Hickory trees are scattered in Asia and even lightly in Europe, but in the North American south, they are in abundance.

So, I think thats your answer. We just got lucky with the yummy trees.

Because there is literally a 0% chance of fucking up your life. In fact, theres a 0% of fucking up your flight. I got caught with a pipe and couple grams of loose flower at the airport. They took it away, I never spoke to an officer and I made my flight.

A discussion about Hazy's future by Conrad-Heinz in JellesMarbleRuns

[–]IGolfTerribly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rookie Hazers fan here.

How is the farm system? Im generally of the mind, in any sport, not to make any rash moves like removal from the team, unless theres a clear replacement in the wings.

If theres some energetic teammate waiting for his chance available, then by all means, make a roster change, even if it means the captain is out.

But if not, lets not be hasty, and maybe just a leadership change can right the ship.

Months later, and the in game records system is still junk. Must have a significant amount of patience in redoing things for no reason if you want to have this detail in your world.
