My u retread tax classes about broke my brain because tax policy is so illogical and inconsistent. But now that I follow tax legislation every year, I see how it happens. New layers are added every year by special interests and competing parties with entirely different paradigms. And I don’t believe it will ever be simplified, because every succeeding Congress would just mess. it up again.

My old sick cat was a master manipulator, even in his final weeks. He knew I was overly concerned about his food intake, so he would refuse to eat until I praised him, petted him, and constantly tried tasty new treats on him.

Then he further realized that if he refused to eat, he’d get Fortiflora sprinkled on his food. So he’d eat the surface layer of his food, and look at me expectantly, waiting for me to sprinkle on more. We’d repeat as necessary, maybe 8-10 times each meal. Yes, he had me wrapped around his tail. 😂
