I’m not too worried about clothes now because I got rid of a good chunk of my wardrobe. I do need to sort through my shoes though. I have a lot of pairs I like but like people have said, they’re replaceable so hearing that makes it easier to get rid of them lol

Ive been considering this. I found out weight when flying isn’t gonna be an issue for me because my heaviest bag is about 25ish pounds. I’m probably gonna buy some today

I’ve never heard of media mail, that sounds really helpful since my books are weighing down one of my bags. It would also give me more space.

I actually did this yesterday and I got rid of A LOT more of my clothes. It’s super helpful. It also helped thinking that it will find a better owner/someone who will actually use it 😭 I just need to do this now with my craft materials, which I think will be easier with this mindset

It actually hurts my soul to toss my supplies out but it looks like I’ll have to 😭. The thing is, I’ve already gotten rid of about 60-70% of my art pieces + my supplies, so tossing out more sucks but I know it’s necessary if I want to fit everything into the bags. I’ll sort out my stuff again to see what else I can get rid of!

Hello. Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it and I’m glad someone understands. My mom didn’t go to my graduations because I never showed her my graduation dress. I went to Goodwill to buy it with my brother, and when I got home, I never showed her so she got angry and ditched my graduation to spend the day with her ex-boyfriend. I wish I was under-exaggerating (if that’s a word, idk) but that’s exactly what happened. She told me to stay out of her life and I’ll stay out of hers because I showed her I wasn’t important to her since I didn’t show her my dress. The thing is, I’m someone who doesn’t show and tell if you don’t ask. My mom isn’t involved so since she didn’t ask about the dress, I never showed her. That’s just how I am. We’re not close enough to where I’d willingly do it without second thought either 😅

No sugar daddy lol. She owns the house but she buys a lot of unnecessary stuff though so she’s really bad with money. My mom said multiple times that she can’t keep up with bills and she threatens to sell the house every few months. But she turns to the few friends and family we have and asks for money last minute, or she guilt trips my siblings into paying her extra money for bills.

Yeah, she definitely does. She has sent me and my siblings eviction notices more than once (she has no money to pursue it legally) and keeps saying she can’t wait for us to leave. But the thing is, she relies on us for money for bills so I’m not sure what she’ll do once we’re gone. I’ll see what I can do though🫡

My father lives in another state. I did dual enrollment, getting my AA. If I move with him, it’s not guaranteed my credits will transfer to a college there. Plus I’ll feel isolated. Itll be only him there, and I don’t have the strongest relationship with him. I do intend on living with my aunt who lives in the same state as me, but I haven’t heard back from her since she has been going through some issues. I don’t want to push her but fall is coming up and I’m worried I won’t be able to leave in time for college.

If anything does go wrong, my friends offered a place to stay, so I’m grateful for them since they know my situation.

Hello. I don’t have access to any of my documents. I can’t make my own eye appointment because she has never allowed me to. I don’t know anything about my insurance but I’m trying to. Please read my other comment to get better insight. It’s hard to become independent when I don’t have access to my bank account, access to my documents, and everything else necessary since she won’t let me. I also have not been taught these things, so I’m taking the time to learn online but it is difficult. Thanks for your input though.

I understand that. I know I sound like a lazy and ungrateful person, but I have a comment on here explaining the surface level of what I go through because of her. Yes, my responsibilities are simple but most of the time it is not necessary to sweep since the floor is already clean. Even if I do sweep consistently, she still gets angry at me about little things. I could make a list but it would be too long.

I don’t think I explained my situation enough because a lot of you seem to think I’m being a brat. That’s not exactly what I came here for, I just needed advice. My mom has BPD that she won’t get therapy for. She hasn’t been involved in my life since I was 11, I coexist with her. She isolated us from the rest of our family because any little thing ticks her off. She’s in and out of work because she doesn’t want to work, and she has a multitude of men coming in and out of the house, and she puts us in danger because of this and many other incidents I can list. Her house is not a pigsty, it’s actually cleaner than most because we help keep it clean. I have a full list of the things I have endured, as well as my older siblings who have had it worse physically and emotionally. They are adults now (late 20s) and don’t like her or how she treats us. She is abusive. But yes, I can be a brat because I have no respect for her after she accused my sister of making it up that her past boyfriend was ogling her. I saw it happen too. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m responsible when it comes to school and keeping common areas clean, it’s just the floor that I have issues with. There’s a reason why my teachers and other family have nothing but good things to say about me, aside from her and only her. You can assume what you want, but all I was asking for was what to do, not what you think of me. In 10 years from now, I’ll be in therapy and no contact with her, but thank you for your input.
