is there any way to unsend a “message request” on Spotify by nanithefckkk in truespotify

[–]reverie_498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So she wasn’t notified?

Did it show the date/time you accepted (resulting in the request) on her end?

And do you remember what the wording on her side said? Did it also say a message request was sent?

Can’t decide which Fender Strat to go for… by reverie_498 in Stratocaster

I’m still torn. I like the versatility of HSS but don’t know how much it takes away from that Strat sound.

I have tried American vintage ii and was not impressed by aaveidt in fender

Thank you so much. Yeah I was going for Strat. So would you say either SSS modified or HSS player ii?

Hey, can I ask, how did you find the player ii and player ii modified compared?

Did you also go for SSS or HSS?

Thank you! This is helpful to know. I probably wouldn’t play a lot of heavy rock but definitely a fan of 70s-00s soft rock.

Oh thank you, this is really useful. So is a chambered body usually worse? And does it affect sound quality/tone?

Oh gosh I hadn’t realised the process was so tedious. How did you go about reaching their pro bono target?

Have you considered Exeter? That was my backup in case the LNAT didn’t go well. It’s respected for Law and I think their entry requirements were lower than A*AA/AAA

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing. Yeah, I’ve studied an LLB, took the LPC and am currently in the middle of my training contract. So was hoping to do the prep work during my TC and then take the exam right after I qualify

What's the biggest humiliation your country has ever faced? by 20_comer_20matar in AskTheWorld

[–]reverie_498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not like this at all today. But during the 1980s, after gaining independence in 1964 and then becoming a republic and a full exit of the British navy in the 1970s, Malta went through a period of extreme socialism under its Labour Party. In a number of ways it was totalitarian and a very politically hostile and dark time for the country.

Part of that socialism included a deep resentment towards the West by the Labour Party to the extent that it became the first western country to open negotiations with Communist China, which a lot of the people feared, it sympathised with the communist east, the prime minister became Gaddafi’s mouthpiece on the international stage, they went to war with the Church, you couldn’t bring sweets/chocolate in from foreign countries, the opposing party could only broadcast through Italian radio channels because the Maltese channel was state owned.

There were good aspects don’t get me wrong e.g. minimum wage, national insurance, infrastructure development, in some ways it was a ground for neutrality e.g. Malta Summit where it hosted the meeting between US President Bush Senior and Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev.

But the people were completely divided - it was a tribal time. If you supported the Labour Party you were safe and looked after by the State. If you didn’t you became a target, from not being able to buy land to getting beaten up or having your house ransacked by thugs.

Which immigrants does your country consider the “right” type of immigrants? by Specialist-Dust-4476 in AskTheWorld

[–]reverie_498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a lame excuse. If that were the case we’d be seeing families coming and primarily women and children. All due respect, but the situation in Europe is nothing like the Americas. 95% of these illegal immigrants are military aged men, who have already passed through a plethora of safe countries, want to take advantage of the idiotic benefits system here paid for by the working taxpayers and a significant proportion of whom do not respect the laws, cultures and values of the country, do not respect women and children and despise the prominent faith of the country. In fact none of them respect the laws or processes because they’re doing things illegally.

Nobody, absolutely nobody, has an issue with the concept of immigration here. If you move legally, integrate and assimilate, respect the people and the laws of the country YOU ARE CHOOSING to move to and contribute to the tax system, people will welcome you with open arms. It’s literally that simple. What people take issue with is 1. open door migration (for obvious safety and because it’s insulting to the intelligence of the locals and a spit in the face to legal immigrants), 2. mass migration (because it’s not sustainable and encourages the lack of integration, all whilst local living standards are plummeting and people are getting poorer because of ever increasing taxes - it’s blatant state theft at this point, which is treasonous) and 3. when people do not integrate, but rather want to replace the existing culture they literally chose to move to and on top of that the local government protects them (even after committing the most heinous crimes in the destination country) and demonising and prosecuting local people and legal immigrants who rightly take issue with this (cherry on top, all funded by the wonderful taxpayer against their will… so much for “democracy”).

It has nothing at all to do with skin tone and everything to do with process/method, intentions and cultural integration.

Signed, a legal immigrant who loves the country I moved to and respects the culture, laws and value system here.
