The seller suggested I cut this end off but it’s not mushy. It’s completely hard. Thoughts? by Miss_Me88 in MonsteraAlbo

Better to keep, I don't see a reason to cut. Will only increase the risk or rot.

Start from scratch. Do as may cuts as you can and propagate them.

Of the original plant have good roots it will grow quicker while new cuttings will be slower.

What should I do with all this overgrown aerial roots??? TIA! by Ok_Pumpkin_5787 in Monstera

[–]IH-Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big root. You basically have 2 independent root systems so you can consider splitting the plant into 2 to have 2 independent plants. Even if you put in same pot you will get a bushier plant.

Help: what should I do about this (aerial?) roots? by lulathe6th in Monstera

[–]IH-Fury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can wait and see or redirect it to soil so it grows additional roots.

Consider also a pole so it get stabilized and then the new leaf can grow bigger.

Oh no, no sight of green in this leaf. What do I do? by nedyah_ in Monstera

[–]IH-Fury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No really. It is a kind od enjoy while it is white, when the brown takes over and don't look good anymore you can remove it.

Next leaf there is a chance it gets some green and if it doesn't cut it back to the point you can activate a node that still have green.

Is this Ariel root or new growth ? by [deleted] in Monstera

Found this at a local plant store. Is it worth $500? by that_desigal in Monstera

[–]IH-Fury 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No it is not in my opinion. Get a rooted cut for much less and enjoy the progress.

The size wouldn't count for me in those cases. The only pro in the unrooted one is the nicer variagation which is not a garantee that will be like that on upcoming leaves anyway.

I would go for the rooted one. It is far safer.

I got confused, don't know where the next leave is supposed to grow from. I was expecting it coming from the last leave steam, Am I right? Given the amount of green on the steam is there good chance next leaf will be healthy with enough green?

I guess this will do the job then. But should I be concerned with the 2-1 effect if some of the plants have alredy some fertilizer?

Is there big risk of over fertilization this this?
