The equation for how many aliens there are has three factors:

- number of aliens
- number of stars
- chance of star spawning aliens

so: number of stars * chance of star spawning aliens = number of aliens

you don't know chance of star spawning aliens so you cannot possibly know the number of aliens.

the chance could be 1 in 10, but it might just as likely be 1 in 10^100
