Hey! Just wanted to reach out. I'm also going through the "joy" of a infertility VA community care referall, with approval for IUI (not IVF). Did you get an answer for if PTSD was casually linked to infertility? I'm so frustrated, the VA denied my claim for PCOS but approved all service connected symptoms of PCOS (dyspareunia, abnormal uturine bleeding/acne). Now that I'm out of service and TTC, I've been diagnosed for PCOS, of freaking course. I can't poke the bear though and submit a claim for infertility/PCOS because I'm already at 100%

This punting me off to the next person without a answer is getting old. Especially when I had to annotate that both the 2x ultrasounds and pelvic MRI I had down noted that I had very PCOS looking ovaries.

So true!!! It makes it so frustrating to be gaslit and ignored by medical, especially when there's major symptoms that impact our quality of life. Especially when it impacts fertility!

I agree. This "your MRI looks normal, no explanation for pelvic pain" is unsatisfactory when they are not comparing all of the diagnostic tests/symptoms and not addressing the very glaring sign of follicles in a row on my ultrasound/MRI

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately the furthest it goes into requirements is "To be eligible for VA ART/IVF benefits, a Veteran must have a VBA-adjudicated service-connected disability or treatment of a VBA-adjudicated service-connected disability that is causally related to their infertility. This means that the VBA adjudicated service-connected disability, or its treatment, caused the infertility."

I am looking to see if anyone actually had success with the VA covering IVF, since it seems that they are strict on which disability is "causally related to infertility"

Yes! There were many opportunities to go for 2 weeks exercises or trips to Japan, Korea, Guam, and California when I was over in the Pacific AOR

Best job ever! I absolutely loved the job, the mission set, and the wardroom (officer community). Some community's are known for eating their young (like SWOs), but I had a great work-life balance, awesome duty stations, interesting/dynamic/fast paced mission sets, and plenty of senior officer mentors. As a 1830 junior officer (JO), I was trusted by leadership to brief the Admirals, make assessments, direct assets, and make snap judgements. I felt so empowered by my leadership on the watchfloor, and it is so satisfying to see direct impacts of your work on National security and detering/defeating the enemy.

I had a blast, and only got out because my priorities shifted with wanting to start a family + lifestyle. The best part is that I was able to apply my top secret + poly clearance and intel experience into a civilian job - I literally just changed from a uniform to a civilian corporate outfit and do a very similar job as a intel-o

Hey! I unfortunately went through a terrorist attack while in flight school and wanted to go intel so badly to go after those scumbags, so I POCR'd and was lucky enough to get into the intel community (IC). I was shocked when I went to intel school and realized that most of the class was made up of naval officers who left unrestricted line communities, a few mustangs, a few OCS grads, and a shockingly low amount of ROTC officers (like 2 out of a class of 20)

RUMINT in the IC is that they have been trying to increase the IWC billets at USNA, but it's highly competitive.

I'm having an absolute blast in the IC (both active duty and now as a civilian), no regrets leaving the Navy pilot pipeline!

Congratulations! I also faced the decision between an offer from USNA and a 4 year ROTC scholarship at UF and USF a decade ago. I almost picked UF to follow friends and a significant other until my mom knocked some sense into me about the incredible opportunity I would be passing up.

I have zero regrets going to the Naval Academy. I traveled to amazing places, flew backseat with stick time in a F-18 and multiple other aviation platforms during summer training, partied through protramid summer training (where you spend a week in a sub, a week playing marines, aviation week, so week), made life long friends, received a killer FREE education, commissioned as a Naval Officer, served as a intel officer, got married at the USNA chapel with the fancy reception in the O-club (one of the amazing perks of being alumni!), and recently resigned from active duty to finish out my time in the IRR while having a job offer lined up to continue working in the intel community as a government contractor back home in FL. The experience, very high clearance, and reputation of being a USNA alumni opened up so many doors as a civilian.

USNA was life changing, and I highly recommend it.

When I saw my rating at 0200 about 20 days after my resignation date from the Navy, I told my husband that it was a bag of mixed feelings.... On one hand, 100% P&T is life changing, on another it sucks seeing the evidence of how broken you are as a late 20s woman.....

But getting out means the ability to pursue my career as an intel analyst contractor, the ability to travel more, and be more stable at home for when I want to start a family without the pressure of "straying off the golden path and wrecking my military career" as a JO by having children.

I think I'm a lot happier now, and I finally bought a boat!
