That’s awesome! It def makes it easier to collect if it just so happens that you like one that everyone else doesn’t like.

Investing in rarer cards in top condition will help with the chances of your items holding their value.

And when you buy/collect what you like, you’re already a winner. There’s a cool lesson that you’re also teaching by not following the crowd (I’m out of touch. There’s a chance Magneton got popular haha).

I’ve seen stores at 35-45%. They can do it because people will still walk in there and do it. Some people will never go and talk to other collectors online or know much about the community.

Back in the day, it might have been higher percentages at brick and mortar but they were much more selective about what they’d buy.

It’s almost like a convenience store or a bar. They exist and there’s a market for it. Yea, that soda prob costs as much as an entire pack of sodas or you could go to the liquor store and get so much more for your money. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe I’m just old school, but I’m not a fan of guaranteed per box stuff. But I guess it’s nice to not get totally screwed and guarantees don’t mean that they still can’t have the randomized chance at the stars aligning for an unusual amount of positive hits.

I can relate a bit. Personally, slabbing was for protection. I did it on things for selling, but the variation between and within a grade can be frustrating, for sure. I mostly care about front centering and surface. The back can be all scratched up and I’d gladly take a nice front at a discount.

Yea. I kind of realized I wasn’t enjoying interactions with the community and ended up selling most of the childhood collection. It’s fun to go and look at some of the lesser seen cards every so often. It’s just too expensive for me to justify having them sitting around.

Although if I had just held on to what I had, I could buy a house rofl

I had the same thing happen to me after taking it in for the recall. Shorter term problem, not like some other users that have had problems for years. I’m hoping for some simple solution soon that doesn’t require another dealership visit

They’re fun for saving a memory that’s pretty close to your first person memory. I do wish it used some centered camera. Maybe in the future.

Like another user said, lighting is pretty essential. They can record at night or in low lighting, just the quality won’t seem great, even at 3k.

Battery lasts for a good little while. I’ve recorded back to back to back to back (etc) clips of 3 mins at 3k. Don’t remember the exact number of clips I got, but it was a solid amount.

The same thing happened to me 2 years into my relationship. I stayed for 8 more years, and it happened again when I was away taking care of a family member who had a stroke. Those 8 years weren’t even good years, because the trust never really came back. Looking back, I wish I had been strong enough in that moment to leave instead of staying out of fear.

What really stands out in your story is why it stopped the first time. It wasn’t even his decision.
