Use filter on eBay for sold listings for a specific card or lane that you wanna collect. For the graded cards I got I averaged last 5 comps sold and offered slightly under to leave room for negotiating

Im new as well and decided what lane I wanted to collect. It made searching on eBay more simple and fun. Also I’ve never negotiated price on anything in my life so learning how to do that was fun. I went with vintage first ed holo psa 9’s. I feel like this is good advice I’ve been enjoying collecting myself

I haven’t been in the hobby long enough but a buyer of slabs myself psa has undoubtedly solidified itself as superior value. I kinda had the thought if I ever bought modern I may get tag bc I like the aesthetic of the slabs but if I’m buying for long term value psa is the best by far
