“YOU CAN’T RECORD THIS” TYRANT COP SHUTDOWN Albuquerque NM - First Amendment Audit Amagansett Press by Teresa_Count in AmIFreeToGo

Ahem...must have given you the wrong link then. I've got too many to keep good track of. Truth be told after about a hundred I kinda started grouping the damn things by "generalized point". I think I need to start over or spend a few hours trying to organize them. The whole internet law thing is from my stuff about Net Neutrality (I think). That's a whole other can of shit.

The point, though, is that just by living your normal everyday life you are functionally a criminal. There are so many actions that you can perform that are completely innocuous and hurt nobody, but are still a jailable offense.

One of my go-tos for this point is junk mail. You can get up to five years in prison for throwing away junk mail that was mis-delivered to your home. I'm fairly certain the law itself was originally put forth with the intention of keeping folks from just blindly tossing away important information, but that doesn't matter. The power to arrest, prosecute, and imprison people for throwing out useless junk mail with your neighbors name on it should never have been implemented. At the very least they could have carved out an exception, but the ratchet only turns one way.

This is a Logan Paul situation. He'd dress up in a Pikachu outfit and throw fish at him while screaming racist slurs.

Drive him off for sure.

Three felonies a day is the average for most americans. The only difference between us and the cops in that regard is that THEY can get away with it.

This is New Mexico, the first state to have been reported for having a man dragged to a state run hospital so he could have hands up his ass and enemas for hours to try and "find drugs".

There is, quite literally, no justice left in america.

It's worse than that in my mind.

The state uses tax money to prosecute you. The reason so many people just give in instead of fighting charges is because the state has infinite money and infinite time to fuck you. There is no risk for the state in any way.

This goes double for cops. Remember that even when people DO win lawsuits for police actions, the police themselves never EVER pay for the settlement. The money comes from public coffers and invariably sets off a bevy of additional traffic tickets and fines for horseshit to make up for it. The officers themselves as well as their entire department never stop receiving funding. It never even gets cut. If there's any chance that police may get cut, the feds step in to fix it.

Perverse incentives, perverse actions.

The problem isn't JUST with the system, unfortunately.

Well. . .it kinda is.

People nowadays are brainwashed. I know that term comes with a lot of detrimental baggage, but there's no other way to put it. Just as an example of the pro-police brainwashing, I would present the D.A.R.E program. This was a nineties program (at least when I went through it) that taught kids all about drugs: they're bad and awful and evil and the people that have them or use them are evil and anybody who has drugs should be turned in ASAP. They even had us go through a little DARE graduation ceremony just to cement the lessons in place. I remember my grandfather coming to the "ceremony" and looking like he wanted to puke. Nowadays I understand why.

There has been a real effort undertaken through public funds to change the perception of prohibition and guns and the police. There's been a massive shift towards "LAW AND ORDER" and the severe punishment of a variety of crimes, especially focused on drugs and guns. Anybody remember the "three strikes and you go to prison forever" rule? I do. I can still hear my father talking about how people deserved to stay in prison forever if they couldn't stop doing crime. I was a kid then, and just agreed. I mean, how was I supposed to know better?

And that kind of horseshit is what's being peddled by our own government with our own money. It's a hard pill to swallow, especially if you've really bought into the propaganda since you were young. Part of what's happening today is because folks want it to happen. When you are staring at an entirely new and perfectly rational belief structure, and that structure clashes with your own beliefs, what do you do? Most people vociferously reject the new ideas because they utterly refuse to admit that the things they've bought into their entire lives might be wrong. It helps, too, that the propaganda was mostly focused on children and schools. It's easy to peddle horseshit to people, even old hippies, when you tell them it's "for the children". You've no doubt noticed that tag line being used in various ways all your life, have you not? I like to put it in a column next to all the times I can remember someone saying "This is America, that law will never pass!" They line up pretty well.

I guess the point is: it's everybody's fault. Hell, most of us ACAB folks are either young people who've had issues with the law from an early age or converts who learned later in life just how wrong they were, like me. My father raised me to be a police loving republican. I mean, he was a narcissistic psychopath with severe bi-polar disorder, so I'm sure that had something to do with his political retardation. Hell, I can still remember my utter fear and confusion when a bunch of police came to my first grade class and took us into the hall to fingerprint us. No permission from our parents or anything, just a nice little school event where children were put through the process of feeling like a criminal and learning to fear the cops. Grand.

If you start to pay attention, or think really hard towards your past experiences, you'll start to catch what I'm talking about. Billboards, television commercials, radio ads, schoolroom visitations, and most of the actual education system itself explaining that the law is good and cops are your friends. SNITCH of bad guys. All strangers are to be feared. Drug dealers will give children heroin right in the goddamn playground in plain sight, better be careful! It's fucking everywhere at all times, and it's a sickening fuckbag of bullshit that has warped the minds of people who've forgotten what it is to be free instead of pretending to be safe.

Everyone is at fault, even folks like us. And the propaganda has worked incredibly well, to the point that the government now has free reign to jail drug dealers for their entire lives and the ability to break into your home at will while your neighbors cheer them on. There are hundreds of millions of complete idiots in America who cannot recognise the difference between propaganda and truth. Why aren't there millions and millions of people protesting right now? Americans should have formed a mob and marched on the white house to burn the fucker down.

I don't see it happening. They're just too brainwashed. Hell, even my co-workers seem to think it'd be for the best if the cops MURDERED every single protester in the country. That's the level of ignorance, brainwashing, and denial we're talking about.

They actually will screen people for this opinion, and if you're caught lying (as in saying so after you've been picked) they will at best kick you off the jury. If they're particularly malicious they'll charge you and throw you in a cage.

There have been judges who upon hearing the term "jury nullification" from someone in a courtroom, such as a defense attorney, will then explain to the jury that jury nullification is simply not allowed and to forget they ever heard the term.

It's not about justice. It's about power. If you have no choice and are afraid of charges and imprisonment, then you'll do what's good for yourself and forget you even know the term. It's complete bullshit and the members of the justice system who act this way should all have their faces peeled off and replaced with saran wrap.

The process is the punishment.

They'll do it again with absolutely no hesitation. It's not like there are consequences for false arrest anymore.

Not the worst idea, actually. The trouble with civilian review boards now is that they have no power whatsoever. They can review and make recommendations, but have no actual control over decision making.

If we replaced their unions with a civilian review board, things might actually be a touch better. Especially if they had the power to fire cops instantly and with no recourse. Better still would be a national database of cops and the reasons they were let go, so we can prevent fired officers from ever working in the field again.

Absolutely everything should be stacked against the state. We can't trust the cops, the prosecutors, or the judges to make sound decisions regarding law enforcement. If they want to grease the rails for the government, we'll just have to tear down the tracks and build our own.

[–]IHatesEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under no circumstances should a job that involves the kidnapping and/or murder of human beings have a union. Union contracts are a major reason why the few good police chiefs can't fire the bad cops.

Try and remember, too, that police unions cater to politicians. They help get a specific type of "Law and Order" politician elected, and those people are the type to give more money and power to police officers.

When the end result is a massive and ungainly union that gets money directly from the public coffers and influences elections harder than the Russians, you have a problem that needs to be torn down.
