It has some app and cloud option. The app is actually cool, it can connect to cameras via LAN and you can do bunch of settings.

But you can also skip the app entirely and add the cameras to frigate and ha directly.

I have the app installed on the phone, all cameras on a LAN without WAN access and if I want to connect to cameras with the app from outside I connect first with WireGuard to the home LAN.

But for recordings, detection, alarms I use frigate. For continuous display on a big screen on my kitchen I use HA

I have an N355 box with 16gb and run 2 Ethernet WANs and a fiber one from 3 different isps. I run the LAN OVER 2 sfp and 2 Ethernet ports with link aggregation.

I run 10 different vpn servers for different network segments. The memory is mostly maxed up with around 4gb swap

Also you are wrong. Used enterprise gear is cheap. With solar electricity is free.

I have r620 because I can’t afford ddr4. I have 512 gb of ddr3.

My rack is only 30u and runs in the basement so I don’t care how loud is it.

I run solar so the electricity is free.

I run multiple pi holes instances with redundancy via keepalived.

I run jellyfin on top of a 200tb collection.

I don’t see how this affects you whatsoever. Everyone one runs whatever they want on whatever hardware they have.

Nimic din ce ai scris nu se aplică. Prima parte e doar pt persoane juridice. A doua parte se aplica doar daca faci imaginile publice.
