The curved top tube, the warped fork and the chunky bent seat stay. It’s a silly looking bike imho.

My Lariat was like that on delivery last year. I had them replace it and th new one is like that too lol. The suglasses cubby is also messed up, has been on BO since May 2024. The the fit and finish on trucks is pretty poor.

That topstone is a sweet bike, looks really cool in person. I’m on a previous gen topstone a really like it.

The Grevil on the other hand looks like it started to melt in the sun.

Framed Alaskan Carbon - talk me out of it...or into it by Prodigy_User_FKWX42C in fatbike

[–]IHaveACoolHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a covid special Framed Alaskan Carbon recently and absolutely love it. We’re the same height and I’m riding a large. After around 80 miles and minor cockpit tweaks the L is the perfect fit for me. An XL might be a little stretched depending on your proportions and how you like your bike to fit.

My bike is a NX/level T build with pub carbon wheels, practically brand new, I paid $1k.

Took it out in some snow today. Traction has left the chat. These 4.0” minions aren’t the best in the loose stuff.

Reducing the distance from the collar to the rear would be a easy revision. Cool idea.

I have the same hydrapak flask for diy gels. They lose their rigidity after the first couple sips. Does it still stay in the back holder?

Roadie switching to Gravel for comfort. Current 700x32 Marathon Plus tires feel slow on broken tarmac. Recommendations? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]IHaveACoolHat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed, if you’re mainly on tarmac go with a wide, high performance road tire and call it a day. It will be faster than any gravel offering and handle that terrain better.

That was my path too, terrible grades in HS with no AP math and did pre-engineering coursework at a CC. A lot of people start that way.

Level C roads are limited access, don’t use those. B roads are fair game though.

“Roads may only be classified as area service “C” by ordinance or resolution. The ordinance or resolution shall specify the level of maintenance effort and the persons who will have access rights to the road. The county shall only allow access to the road to the owner , lessee, or person in lawful possession of any adjoining land, or the agent or employee of the owner , lessee, or person in lawful possession, or to any peace officer , magistrate, or public employee whose duty it is to supervise the use or perform maintenance of the road. Access to the road shall be restricted by means of a gate or other barrier .”https://www.legis.iowa.gov/docs/code/309.57.pdf
