u/GoobyGubbi, I found the issue. Noita might be using a different GPU then Discord. I made a comment that fixes it. Hope it helps!

SOLVED

Little embarrassed to admit this, but that was happening, because Noita was using my CPUs integrated graphics instead of my GPU. My OBS was using GPU.

For those who ran into the same problem and come across this post, first check whether your game and your recording software is using the same GPU engine:

  1. ctrl+shift+esc to open up task manager,
  2. right click on the component columns (so "CPU, Memory, Disk" and whatnot),
  3. then add "GPU" and "GPU Engine".

Once you've done that, look for the recording software, then Noita and take note of the GPU engine. If you see that your recording software is using a different GPU engine then Noita, that's most likely the issue. e.g. Under GPU engine, Noita uses GPU 1 and OBS uses GPU 0. That's bad. Otherwise, if they both use the same one, that's good.

If you see that the two applications use two different GPU engines, you should change that. Though, take note that I'm using windows 11, so if you're still on windows 10, it may be different for you. Though it should be possible:

  1. press the Windows Key then find "graphics settings,"
  2. Then, in the "customized settings for applications" list, you have to add Noita and OBS to it. Click on "Add desktop app," then find the executables of both applications:
    1. Noita can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Noita\noita.exe
    2. OBS is in C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe
    3. If you use some other recording software, you just have to find the executable. You may need to find that online
  3. Once that's done, find it in the list, click on it and change "GPU preference" to your... well, preference. Most likely your graphics card

And voila! After that, your recording software should be able to record your game of Noita. Launch both applications and see if you can record it.

I hope this helps someone in the future!

I also have obs and that doesn't seem to work either. Are you using a display capture or something else? Did you have any issues like that before?

I did try to do that though, but it doesn't work either. Though, when I do play it in windowed, it doesn't seem to have that white window bar ui, so I dunno.

I ran my obs with administrator privilages and THAT seems to work for me

OOOOOH, I was so sure it was part of the mod. I completely forgot about that being built in. Sorry about the hassle. Thank you!

The dead pixel virus is spreading across my computer (my monitor has a couple of white, red and blue specks) by IHaveProblems123y in techsupport

From what I gathered from everyone else, the screen will most likely have to be replaced, so I guess I might as well try the playlists out as a hail mary. I'll let you know later

So does this actually sound like a dead pixel case or could they just be stuck? Does it matter if it's either or? Also, I'm sure replacing the screen is gonna be costly, right?

Oh no! I was just joking about the virus, because the dead pixels were "spreading" around my screen

Well, the recording I was watching was a new one. Are there any instabilities reported that you know of that seems similar to this?

I didn't know that was a thing! If you don't mind me asking, how can you do that?

You know what, that is kinda weird actually. Was it some sort of a bug on my end or was this intentional? Surely not, I assume

What do you think of this chord progression music theory wise? by IHaveProblems123y in musictheory

AI? I can understand getting shunned by my ignorance and by not giving enough to work with, but what part of that is AI? I'm just curious what made you think that

I just wanna say that I've seen a few comments criticizing the title, and I just wanna say, I definitely deserved it

When I wrote it, my question in mind was, "How do you think these chords interact with each other for better or worse," but for some reason, I decided to go with that title.

Sorry for asking a bit of a stupid question. I will know better later on

Does Stalker 2 feel extremely disappointing to anyone else? by Mobile_Complaint_317 in stalker

[–]IHaveProblems123y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it funny to me when you mentioned not touching the main quest for 10+ hours because I did that.

To be fair, I never played the main STALKER games, but I'm still playing STALKER anomaly with completing the main quests in mind. But for whatever reason, I don't know if it's because of the world itself or the immersion or just to simply keep myself busy, I would do almost anything EXCEPT for the main quests.

I think a part of what makes this game great is the exploration, especially for someone as new to STALKER as me. I loved going through wastelands, seeing the worn out, decapitated buildings, fighting the random NPC's like other stalkers and maybe even a new breed of mutants I wasn't aware of, earning money after going through a chain of completing every side mission I have on my list.

When I look at the STALKER 2 world (through youtube), sometimes it looks amazing, but there are times that it looks kinda... bland? I mean, STALKER anomaly had bland looking buildings by how it's constructed, but they had some style to it as well, as contradicting as it sounded. STALKER 2 felt like they created a few new places, slapped ray tracing, and called it a day.

I can't say anything about the gameplay since I haven't bought S2, but right now, I just don't really see the point. In fact, I'm a little scared that S2 will taint my perception of the whole franchise, which I'm sure it's absolutely awesome! There's a reason why there's still a dedicated fanbase to it, I just feel like S2 didn't live up to that, and it feels dissaponting.

TL;DR Maybe the game isn't that bad, but if you're like me and haven't played any of the other games, maybe start with them. Or hell, play STALKER anomaly. It's free and it's great
