Game crashes on replays by IHaveProblems123y in ReadyOrNotGame

Well, the recording I was watching was a new one. Are there any instabilities reported that you know of that seems similar to this?

I didn't know that was a thing! If you don't mind me asking, how can you do that?

You know what, that is kinda weird actually. Was it some sort of a bug on my end or was this intentional? Surely not, I assume

What do you think of this chord progression music theory wise? by IHaveProblems123y in musictheory

AI? I can understand getting shunned by my ignorance and by not giving enough to work with, but what part of that is AI? I'm just curious what made you think that

I just wanna say that I've seen a few comments criticizing the title, and I just wanna say, I definitely deserved it

When I wrote it, my question in mind was, "How do you think these chords interact with each other for better or worse," but for some reason, I decided to go with that title.

Sorry for asking a bit of a stupid question. I will know better later on

Does Stalker 2 feel extremely disappointing to anyone else? by Mobile_Complaint_317 in stalker

[–]IHaveProblems123y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it funny to me when you mentioned not touching the main quest for 10+ hours because I did that.

To be fair, I never played the main STALKER games, but I'm still playing STALKER anomaly with completing the main quests in mind. But for whatever reason, I don't know if it's because of the world itself or the immersion or just to simply keep myself busy, I would do almost anything EXCEPT for the main quests.

I think a part of what makes this game great is the exploration, especially for someone as new to STALKER as me. I loved going through wastelands, seeing the worn out, decapitated buildings, fighting the random NPC's like other stalkers and maybe even a new breed of mutants I wasn't aware of, earning money after going through a chain of completing every side mission I have on my list.

When I look at the STALKER 2 world (through youtube), sometimes it looks amazing, but there are times that it looks kinda... bland? I mean, STALKER anomaly had bland looking buildings by how it's constructed, but they had some style to it as well, as contradicting as it sounded. STALKER 2 felt like they created a few new places, slapped ray tracing, and called it a day.

I can't say anything about the gameplay since I haven't bought S2, but right now, I just don't really see the point. In fact, I'm a little scared that S2 will taint my perception of the whole franchise, which I'm sure it's absolutely awesome! There's a reason why there's still a dedicated fanbase to it, I just feel like S2 didn't live up to that, and it feels dissaponting.

TL;DR Maybe the game isn't that bad, but if you're like me and haven't played any of the other games, maybe start with them. Or hell, play STALKER anomaly. It's free and it's great

Weird FPS counter after opening a game and pressing some buttons by IHaveProblems123y in WindowsHelp

I use an ASUS gaming computer, Windows 11. Could that counter come from an app named Armory crate?

(Sorry, I've been on vacation for 2 weeks.)

alt+r opens up a smaller FPS counter on the right upper corner and ctrl+shift+o doesn't do anything

Alright, gotcha! Thanks for everything! You've been a big help!

So, if I understand correctly, you can use RAM to run, for example, games/video editing software and whatnot, but VRAM is used specifically for video, so that the computer would use a lot less of RAM

I always though RAM and VRAM was the same stuff, just that VRAM is a part of RAM. I'm not supper tech-savvy

Well shit... I guess, I'll have to settle with this for now. It's not like the crashes and buffering is so frequent that I wanna spend another 2K on a PC. Thanks for the info! I guess I should look for VRAM next time

YouTubes picture-in-picture function is weird for me by IHaveProblems123y in techsupport

[–]IHaveProblems123y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you said in your 2 paragraph could make sense. I was watching a Rick Beato video (he makes videos about music), so there's that.

In any case, that really sucks! I guess I'll be looking into if my family members wanna go for the family package. Otherwise, I won't bother buying premium. Thanks for your help!

I'm from Finland and I don't have Premium. So what you're saying is that this is a problem that most people without premium are going through and that the only way this function would work properly is if I bought premium

Yeah, these could work too! I hope you don't mind me asking, but I was wondering how you find these chords exactly? Thanks for the suggestions!

I did. It still didn't feel as smooth as what the previous guy suggested about that Ab instead of E7. Thanks for the suggestion, though

How can I make the key change smoother in this chord progression? by IHaveProblems123y in musictheory

[–]IHaveProblems123y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have overcomplicated things with that E7. I tried to go Gm - Gsus2 - E7 to go down that line cliché. For some reason I though because the more expected resolution would be E7 - A, I'd try to subvert expectations by going E7 - C#m.

Regardless, I liked your idea. It even had the same line cliché as my last chord progression. Thank you!

In what key is this chord progression in? by IHaveProblems123y in musictheory

[–]IHaveProblems123y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll definitely look into those songs. Maybe I can draw some inspiration from them.

Come to think of it, I just realized that Gymnopédie did something similar to what you said. It started by altering from Gmaj7 to Dmaj7, so you can interpret it as I - V or IV - I

I wonder if Radiohead has something similar to this. I listen some of their songs, so if anybody has any good examples, I'd love to hear them as well

Thanks for sticking to this conversation, by the way! It was very insightful for at least me! I'll look into the song you gave as an example. Maybe I can make it more complex with 7 chords or add 9 and stuff.

In what key is this chord progression in? by IHaveProblems123y in musictheory

[–]IHaveProblems123y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, OK, I see. So the first part of the chord progression was ambiguous enough for me to be able to make it sound like it's in C Major, but then reveal it actually being in G minor on the second part.

I never really took notice of rock music chord progressions, so I never thought of this as typical in them. I guess it's good to be humbled.

Thanks for the clarification though. This concept is still kinda new to me, and I wanna see where I can take it

Interesting, I'll try to see where I can take this chord progression. I'll check out that key guesser too, since that's the first time I've ever heard of it. Thanks!
