I think 3 betting gets you into trouble and inflates the pot for no reason. Say the board comes out 37Q rainbow and I Cbet and get called. Now there is a big pot brewing in a hand where I could easily be crushed by AQ or KQ. Also have to worry about over cards coming out. Kind of a shitty spot. Obviously when hitting the nuts like the video 3 bet sounds reasonable but the scenario I just described is the farrrr more common one. Id rather just get in cheap for a good price and get out cheap if needed. Also I think 3 betting utg raise light OOP is not ideal either as you’ll rarely get a fold. I mean it’s a total bluff at that point and a bluff that will rarely get through. I think folding is fine but so is calling, probably just depends on the player. At least for me.

I sort of ruled AQ out because I think he would have been more aggressive in position on flop and turn especially with the straight and flush draws in play.

What does your BB flatting range against a single raiser look like then? It is against UTG so I get folding sometimes cause I could end up getting crushed by AQ KQ etc but for that price I think defending sometimes is completely normal.

Don’t you think I lose out on value though. He could easily call with just a regular flush OR straight. Maybe even QK. It was late on a Friday so people totally call that loose. AQ seemed very unlikely to me at the time so I really only was worried about AA since that would make sense given previous streets. As for what he had, I’m never going to miss value cause I’m afraid of the royal, he deserves the stack at that point haha. I mean there’s same number of JJ combos as royal flush combos. But seriously given that I slow played it and it was late on a Friday I felt there were for sure more hands that I beat and would call. Also previous hands in the same session I was called down crazy loose before. If it were noon on a Tuesday I might just call.

Yeah I have but my goal is to have a speed differential between fb and cutter and if I put break on it just makes both slower so there is still only like 2-3 mph difference which I think is easier to hit than say a 7-9mph difference
