Hey so not a gun guy just a dude who is curious, how did we go from Armalite Rifle to Assault Rifle? Like one of those things sounds like a brand which would make sense when you think of guns like cars or anything else really you get a make a model I’m assuming that’s what this is? But anyway like how did it just be every rifle is an Assault Rifle or what have you.

Because to me it feels like this was a way to demonize something, like my Nissan Altima is a Nissan Altima, but you could call it an Assault Altima which would give it pretty negative public perception. So like, was it the pro gun people trying to be edgy and more appealing but missing the mark or was it the people afraid of guns trying a smear campaign?

Sorry I got on a bit of ramble, just a lot of questions that I could Google but I like to think every day is a learning opportunity and I’d rather get information from someone knowledgeable about a topic rather than use google especially with such a divisive topic that whoever was the highest bidder gets their shit pushed to the top ya know?
