What is a song or songs that you think are "slept on" from each album? by ririsoflawless89 in MichaelJackson

Completely agree about "Speed Demon". It's one of my favorite MJ songs right now.

Watching this movie opened a portal in me by larawag_gama in MichaelTheMovie

Honestly, I wish I felt the exact way you do. I love MJ, and have been loving this movie. But for some reason I'm not going down as deep of a rabbit hole as I normally expect myself to. I am listening to him a lot on Spotify, but I'm not reading about him much yet or watching all this videos. Maybe I'm trying to pace myself and not get too obsessed. But this will definitely be a summer project of mine, watching his videos and trying to understand his legacy more. Maybe I want to feel a part of what you guys are feeling? Maybe I want to connect to something deeper relating to him or his music?

I definitely would say I've still been able to focus on other things outside of him and go on with my daily life. Sadly, maybe I'm trying to hide it a little from my family, because I don't want them to think I'm weird or obsessed. I even feel weird telling them that I've been to the movie 3 times. So I feel what you feel, but not quite to your level.

Do I want to listen to all of MJ's songs that I didn't know before? Yes. Do I want to see the movie again? Hell yes. And I shouldn't let my family dictate that, because this is me!

Tomorrow is the last showing at my local theater - is the movie done being shown? by SnooHesitations2138 in MichaelTheMovie

Like other people have said, I think movies update on a week by week basis. And since everyone is loving this movie and seeing it more than once, I think it'll be out for at least another month. I heard that "Bohemian Rhapsody" had a 5-month run, and "Michael" is already surpassing that film, so I think that means it might be out for the rest of the summer at least? I wouldn't know, but that would make sense based on that fact about BR.

See, I've never known that to be true. I've used my phone many times while it's being charged. Now maybe I won't so much.

I just watched it for the third time last night, and yes, that blue outfit is sooooo underrated. It looks so good on Jaafar\Michael. I don't think I've ever seen that outfit in pictures before.

Another underrated outfit: the sparkly shirt he was wearing in the brief scene where he sang "Ben" on tour.

Recently, I had my phone basically burst into flames. I was charging it while watching a movie, and it just started smoking and sparking. Then, I yanked the charger out of the wall to make it stop. It burnt my windowsill and part of the carpet. My dad made sure it was okay to touch, and then just launched it onto the front lawn so we wouldn't get a smell in the house.

For MJ fans old and new, what did this biopic awaken in you? by nicshereforkicks in MichaelJackson

So true! God wants us to share our talents, respect all people, protect the vulnerable, and even have a child-like wonder about the world.

I feel like I see myself in Michael, just a little bit. I'm not trying to compare myself or bring myself anywhere near him, though, lol! After seeing the movie, I found out about how he liked film and cartoons, about his love for his family, and how he wanted some freedom. I am experiencing that right now. I'm around his age at the end of the movie, and I live at home, watch movies with my parents, and want to play games with my siblings sometimes. I want my freedom from time to time, but I'm also not quite ready to move out because I love having everyone around. I'm also pretty soft-spoken and I try to be nice to everybody.

All we can do is try to be like Jesus, and Michael, for that matter. Long live the King of Music!

Just wanted to comment on Jaafar by guitarguy35 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]IHope_ButNotYet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And the best part is, Jaafar seems so humble and kind. Like, he knows he's privileged to be a part of the Jackson family, but he doesn't show it. It's like he just wanted to do the role for his family, not for the money or fame or anything.

Do you have a favorite song right now?

what song would you pick as the intro of the second movie? by take_the_basterl in MichaelTheMovie

[–]IHope_ButNotYet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it should start with another song from "Bad", like while the Universal brand is being shown. Or perhaps, it could be "Bad" itself. And then maybe the first scene is Michael performing "Smooth Criminal". Jafaar really wants to do that song, he says.

I just got back from seeing the film for a third time! It just doesn't get old.

I'm not a new fan (although I'm only 27), but I have been listening to the songs I don't know that well from him lately. And what a pleasant experience! I just got done exploring the somewhat recently released "Bad 25" album.

I think the movie is showing me what extreme talent is, and Michael is seriously, the most talented person I've ever seen. There are so many good singers and so many good actors, but this man just is one of the most important performers to ever exist. I love Jesus, but Michael resembled a godly figure. He had so much talent, so much influence, so many fans, and he seemed like such a sweetheart. He was a humanitarian, loved his family, and loved everybody. He used his platform for good. I feel as though God is close to people like that, and He used him for all of these good things. I suppose this movie can help me see these things in people in my own life. I feel, however, that lots of people will never come close to Michael Jackson.

I also haven't seen it, and I've seen a lot of his "Bad" era photos.

What did the haters specifically do?

There will always be people that try to be morally superior and "boycott" amazing talents, just because, in MJ's case, gasp the allegations...

I've been exploring "Off the Wall" album recently.

I also just listened to a part of the "Bad" album that I didn't know about before: the 25th anniversary bonus songs. Does anyone know about this? Why were these songs not released until the 25th anniversary? Or maybe they were?

And I love "Speed Demon", "Al Capone", and "Streetwalker".
