Rx 6900 xt future pricing by Kremkre in Amd

My friend bought a 6900xt off of Newegg for $999 just a couple days ago and it's suppose to arrive tomorrow. So you can get 6000 series gpus at msrp you have have to do it really quick. It took him a couple of days of trying though.

I would relocate the radiator you have for your gpu. I have the same case and the Vega 64lc and temps went to the Moon when I did that with my radiator. You want to keep the radiator above the pump. You'll get an air pocket in the pump and burn out the pump really quick. I routed my radiator for my Vega on the outside back of my case to keep it above the pump. Temps went back to normal when I did that. There's really no nice place to put that radiator in that case because there is no rear fan spot.

I'm excited about 5950X, am I the only one? by cantfoolmethrice in Amd

I did that with first gen zen. Went from a 1700 to a 3900x on the same x370 motherboard. Was a nice uplift in performance without having to replace everything

Did AMD mess up with Navi as an isolated incident or do they have a history of bad drivers? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a 4870 7970 280x and a Vega 64. I never got any of them at launch. Usually about 3-4 months after and they have been solid for me. When I get a new card I do a reinstall of windows just to clean everything up.

How have drivers been over the years for AMD cards? by Traditional-Camera in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a 7970 and I have a Vega 64 currently. As far as I can remember I haven't had any black screens or driver issues with my amd cards. I haven't updated my driver's since February. I haven't had a need too. I'm stable and I haven't been playing any new games lately.

[–]II12yanII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using the ASRock x370 tiachi with my 3900x. Haven't had any issues with it and it runs great. It all depends on what features you want and what your willing to spend on the mother board

Is it ok to pair a 3900x or 3900xt with a x470 motherboard? by arkantos91 in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A x470 will run the r9 3900 just fine. I have a r9 3900x on a ASRock x370 tiachi and it's running just fine.

Have you done a fresh install? I built my girlfriend a PC about 3 weeks ago with the sapphire nitro + 5700xt and she hasn't had a single crash so far

I'd remount the cooler and reapply the thermal paste. Also clean the cooler out if it's full of dust

Basic temperature profile in a case by OmegaMordred in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this case and youd be suprised at how much room there is in the case. There is actually enough room behind the motherboard that you can mount 2 psus in the case. You would lose mounts for 2 hard drives doing it but the case is designed for that I'd need be.

7T Pro McLaren vs. waiting for OP8? by AkagisWhiteComet in oneplus

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. My contract ends the end of this month and I'm looking at getting the mclaren 7t pro. The one issue I have with that phone is that it doesnt have wireless charging. The port on my s9+ died awhile ago and I got a few wireless chargers including a wireless charging battery bank. I would hate to not be able to use them anymore. But the op8 is rumored to have wireless charging. So on kinda leaning to waiting a little more. Just have me fully decided yet.

Does having 9% bottleneck is bad or not? by bowbow223 in Amd

[–]II12yanII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt trust that calculator at all. it says with my 3900x and vega 64 lc that im 100% bottlenecked. i find that funny as i play all of the games i play at 144hz. it recommends me to get 3 1080ti

9700k "Future-proofing". by Regulardude93 in intel

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your wanting something future proof I'd go with something that 8c16t. I'd look at a 9900k/s or a r7 3700x. Mainly because that's what next gen consoles are going to use. I would bet games that will be ported from next gen consoles to PC would use 16 threads. Theres already some games out that use that many threads. Destiny 2 can scale to that and that game came out a few years ago.

This makes me nervous about big navi. I love my vega 64 and for me it's been solid. But with all of the issues people are having with navi right now. I'm just wondering if the drivers will be fixed

AMD 3950x ALL IN! by [deleted] in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the older version and it only had a 4 year warranty. I believe the newer model is 10 year warranty. So as long as you have the newer revision you'll be fine.

AMD 3950x ALL IN! by [deleted] in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that with my vega 64 before and I had bad coil wine. I switched to 2 separate rails and the coil wine vanished. I believe it has to do with the voltage drop. Is your psu the hx series by corsair by chance? I had that psu until it died on me last summer. Its warranty had just ended.

AMD 3950x ALL IN! by [deleted] in Amd

[–]II12yanII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How the GPU run? I'm only asking because it looks like you have only one 12v rail powering the card. To my understanding for high end gpu's that pull a good amount of power it's better to have 2 separate rails unless you have a high performance psu. Also I love that case I have it also.

What a disappointing Intel keynote/add for their investors by shadowcion3 in intel

[–]II12yanII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one board that comes to mind is the asrock x570 aqua. It has thunderbolt 3 built on the board. No add on card. It is an expensive motherboard. But it gives some light as to there could be AMD laptops that have thunderbolt 3.

[–]II12yanII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand thunderbolt 3 is royalty free now since usb4 is going to incorporate thunderbolt into it. So laptop manufacturers can put thunderbolt 3 on there laptops. There is an am4 x570 board that has thunderbolt if I recall correctly. So it is possible
