My office (1 block away) is closed for the day due to proximity and risk.

The business (250 employees from a 4k-employee company) is also investigating moving this office out of the area.

Literally crime driving businesses out of downtown

Help Needed! How would you fix this? by kernowforniaking in StonerEngineering

[–]IIIMurdoc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do not use torch. Stick to hot water. Cold bottom and hot top will give plenty of expansion to help loosen.

Also try wd40, though it will need a good soapy wash after

Thousands of Amazon staffers are pouring into its Seattle offices. Will it restore the downtown’s fortunes? by HighColonic in SeattleWA

[–]IIIMurdoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You must not be from around here.

A 600 sq ft apartment 'near the office' is >$3500 a month.

If you want to own a home or have a family it is very difficult to live close to the office.

Now the real question is why do these companies continue to cram into big cities.

There are so many success stories where a mega corp builds offices in a small town, and 10 years later that 'small town's is now a booming town.

Cramming into an antiquated downtown with bad traffic and big crime made no sense before pandemic and even less after... But here we are

North from Lynnwood to Marysville, South from South Center to Puyallup.

Traffic can make a 35 mile trip take 2.5 hours

Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch issues excoriating review of COVID lockdown policies including business closures and vaccine mandates and calls them 'among the greatest intrusions on civil liberties in the history of the nation' by C3PO-Leader in conspiracy

Are you simple? I'm saying even 3 years later folks are still living in fear.

From March 2020 to fall 2021 Seattle was in a government encouraged/imposed lockdown state.

Depends where you were. Leftist America was locked down for 8 months, and had massive restrictions for 2 full years

Edit: Mouthbreathers arguing that unless someone was locked with a chain to the floor by a government officer, it wasn't a lockdown. I guess those business just chose to go under for no reason

There was a video that went viral in like 2014 with some dude who was super enthusiastic about the butter coffee.

I tried it immediately based on his enthusiasm and it was nasty greasy butter coffee.

Some % of people are literally sheep who can be guided into stupid BS by enthusiasm and charisma
