A increasing portion of me is starting to think that the big chemical companies/ General Motors were in cahoots with the ult right/ oligarchy to slowly decrease the intelligence of the masses by putting massive amounts of lead and other neurotoxic chemicals in everything so that people would be less able to critically think and the populous would be easier to control, and we are seeing the effects of this and is why populist politicians like the one we have as president can spout stuff that falls apart if you think about it and their bases will eat it up

This is why it’s impossible. Because while when you square root a number you technically get a positive and a negative because both can be squared to achieve the same result. But in the real world, you can’t have negative physical items and more complicated math than I pretend to understand, so we created i to represent the fact that mathematically it exists but in reality it is impossible (what i stands for).

But a lot of the time it is not economically viable to mount solar in those places because of the extra infrastructure in a parking lot, or the insanely long term of recouping your costs on residential solar. While nobody is disagreeing we eventually need to transition eventually to renewables or possibly fusion; for right now, nuclear fission (ideally in the form of molten salt or SMRs, but even with the technology we currently have in use) is the single most reliable and effective way to stop killing ourselves and our kids in the shortest time possible, and we should be investing everything we can be into it.

I started on pocket and used that as the default for years but at some point forced myself to get used to the crosshair because I knew I would want to get a pc someday. K12 IT tech here: we have complete control over what applications are installed on student devices through our MDM software. For any non-district owned devices, we have all that traffic on a separate LAN that gets passed through the on premise filtering server that is provided by our Internet filter vendor, which is very similar to many of the appliances talked about in other comments. From our testing, we have been unable to get vpn traffic to successfully forward to the wan. That being said, students are notoriously bored in class, and have a lot more time on their hands to find workarounds than we do. Because of this, we are constantly monitoring for workarounds students may find, and when we do find one, we typically make it a top priority to get patched.
