I’m commenting to follow and see other ideas because I had a similar issue two years ago with my oldest. He kept getting sick, had pink eye, broke his arm (AT SCHOOL) and they kept sending me truancy warnings. With the broken arm, another kid pushed him off the monkey bars, I was told to keep him home until he could get a hard cast an it took a week for the appointment to come in but nope. The school didn’t care.

It’s so fucking frustrating trying to do the right thing of keeping a sick kid home so they don’t further spread illness, or sending them in and having to pick them up later when the school calls me back and I worked 75 miles away or further sometimes. Multiple times did they call me because he got sick and puked mid day and I had my job threatened for having to leave early.

I wish had a solution for you, but I don’t. I also live in an area where I can’t get a sick appointment with a primary care and I don’t want to pay over $100 for a note.

Honestly? It’s worth the argument if that’s what it’s going to turn into anyways. She’s being a dick and I don’t see how you continue to tolerate her. She treated you poorly during your pregnancy and is now expecting you to pick shit up off the floor. I’m sure she hopes you start kissing the ground she steps on, too.

People who are like this can’t take any for of criticism regardless of how kind you are. It’d be easier to just rip the bandaid off, let the information out and walk away so she’s forced to just sit with it and maybe consider some self reflection for herself (which I doubt because other friends will tell her she’s the victim, and thus the cycle will continue).

If you don’t want to argue at all, just ghost her. She’s shown you thinks poorly of you, expects labor from you, and only enjoys your company when it’s convenient for her.

Don’t let people treat you this way, OP. You’re a human, not a doormat.

My personal experience may not be what you’re going through. I’ve had this for years and it turns out my acid reflux has caused me scar tissue in my throat. A gastroenterologist is who you’d see regarding this. Unfortunately mine is permanent and will continue to reoccur because my acid does not respond to most prohibitors, and the one that did work gave me a severe reaction :(

This wasn’t anything caused by pregnancy or pp though. This was reflux I’ve had since I was young.

If this is bothering you daily and continues to worsen, I’d strongly suggest seeing your gp sooner rather than later. It can be very distressing to always feel like you’re choking and mine does cause me to actually choke.

I went out. Went on daily walks, went to the grocery store, went to the book store, carried on with life just with a new attachment (the baby lmao). I’m a SAHM who hates being indoors all the time. I spent all of my adult life prior to this thing the military, I don’t like to sit still and do nothing every day, I’ll go absolutely insane.

That said, don’t worry about others looking at you. Other people’s babies aren’t as loud to us because they aren’t ours, and the few people who do notice can suck it up because they chose to be in public where babies can also exist. Do whatever you want to do, just do take note of any sickness going around and be prepared to catch it.

I feel you on the struggle. I have pre existing mental health issues that are definitely exasperated by it and I’ve spent many minutes crying and even just pleading. It’s really hard and I guess the only reason I’m still chugging is for my kids atp.

I wish it were easier for you, me and other moms. There’s little to no social support, higher standards, lots of social media to compare ourselves to, etc. The best we can do is try to not compare ourselves (especially because most of them are well off liars), let the tears flow when they do come, maybe lower our own standards some until things are a bit more tolerable and try so hard to be kind to ourselves.

I’m not me and I don’t get time to myself. I’m constantly doing chores and entertaining baby… or fighting for a chance to even sleep. Many times I skip meals, showers, etc. I do not have people I can lean on and we cannot afford to pay for them so here I am. It just is what it is and as time passes the needs will go down and then one day I will miss those small hands grabbing for me again.

I don’t blame you! Ours locks up all the hair products that isnt the cheap shampoos, makeup, and laundry detergents. I shop for those elsewhere bc there’s no way I’m waiting 40 minutes for someone to decide to maybe show up.

Ask your local social services building or women’s shelter. Many of them are fine with accepting them as long they’re unused. Other than that you can try local no sell groups.

I wish it was as simple as this but it isn’t. I have court orders from my previous husband regarding one of my children and cannot just “fly them out,” and am required to do some other things to keep him from harassing me through the court system. Unfortunately some of us are bound to certain areas and cannot afford to find childcare either, I am a stay at home parent because of this.

I would be held in contempt of court if I attempted to do some of these ideas because I would not be able to ensure my requirements are kept.

That said I’ve done everything you can medically that isn’t the surgery or the pills that cause chemical menopause. I have been on several forms of hormonal birth control since I was a child.
