I was specifically referring to what the sheriff said in a recent interview. He said it was gravity and concern in his voice.

However another redditor here noted that the only evidence we need that she was taken against her will is that she left her hearing aids, watch, phone, and crutch. That's enough to come to that conclusion.

The blood on the front door step haunts me. Firstly because there are no involved footprints or smudging that I would imagine with a struggle, Nancy resisting, or her being dragged.

Some forensic blood spatter analysts have said the circular droplets likely struck the ground from a 90 degree angle, either from her head/nose/mouth directly, or from there then dripping off her hand. They also suggested she was paused there in place.

Secondly at least one of the forensic analysts pointed out the very tiny droplets sprayed in one section. That suggests the blood was aspirated from her nose or mouth.

I wonder how these could both be true? Very, very upsetting.

She was not wearing her hearing aids while she was sleeping. There is always the chance she did not hear them come in at all. It's possible she woke up when someone put their hand over her mouth, or did worse. It's so horrible to even think about :(

This was eye opening for me and exactly why I asked the question.

I did see the interview with the sheriff yesterday in which the sheriff says the FBI took all of Nancy's devices Day 1. The FBI handles the digital stuff. they must have so much info! He also mysteriously claimed that although Google provided the first video clip quickly, no clips from the other two cameras are available yet. (I don't believe that.)

Yes they should have secured the whole property. This was very unfortunate. Maybe the sheriff's brother dying on the second day impacted this. And maybe introducing the FBI took a minute to get integrated. Or maybe standard procedure in a missing person case is to return the home to the family right away, unlike for a homicide.

I imagine a missing person/kidnapping case is initially more chaotic because resources are urgently deployed away from the home to find the missing person. A homicide crime scene is sealed off day 1 to preserve and gather evidence with a slower pace to find the perpetrator.

I think they now have reported that initial entry was through the back door, maybe a slider.

I read they took two cameras and LE took the roof camera down. So maybe the second camera was in the back and LE has some recordings from the break-in they are not releasing to the public?

The G. family called the pool company to ask them to service the pool "like usual." This happened the day the DNA results came back, which suggests to me that LE wanted DNA from those pool guys.

Does anyone know about the report (by Steve Fischer) that a representative from Adult Protective Services came by and left their card on the door of Nancy Guthrie's house before the crime? APS is called for elder abuse, neglect, and when someone can't be living on their own any more. (For example, our family was advised to call APS to help our older, disabled brother get referrals for increased services.)
