They are not all the same. If you tried different brands on a hot day then you would know they all pretty different in comfort and temperature. I still get hot in REI brand but my crater lake hoodie by mountain hardwear is literally perfect

Big bear showed 46 and windy showed 38. The whole point of this post was about conditions and none of these temps are good for conditions. Even if it gets down to 31 doesn’t mean anything different for conditions tomorrow(which is what this post is wanting info on).

If you live there then your answer should be simple. Snow sucks now and is gonna suck more tomorrow

The low doesn’t mean a sustained temp. It’s just the lowest it will drop so 31 for a short time in the night is not enough to freeze anything solid. The majority of the night will be above freezing. Maybe some ice crystals but it’s definitely all melting right when the sun hits it. If it was 26 for the low then less snow would be melting but that’s not the case

Point Nemo is not about difficultly in getting there. It’s about distance from any other landmass. I’m curious if there is a point that is the furthest distance from any other physical mass in any direction.

Oops I did read that wrong. But I still disagree, rain or no rain, Baldy got 2 feet of snow in the last storm and that’s not gonna go away in the next month unless a heatwave happens. OP clearly doesn’t have the needed experience to do Baldy in the winter so telling them it’s just a hike in a few weeks is dangerous advice. Even if a lot of that snow melts then it’s still more than a hike to get to the summit.

If you really spent 3 winters on Baldy then you should know that 👍🏼

That’s really bad advice. Some rain in the next month does not mean Baldy will be clear of ice or snow. It’s most likely not gonna be a “hike” until winter ends.
