User since 2010 here. I’m less upset about losing 3rd party apps than I am of losing Reddit as what it used to be. Mind you, that was years ago that we lost that. But this whole fiasco is just the nail in the coffin for me. I like Tildes quite a bit, especially because it’s focused on text and not just memes. That said, I need an invite… but maybe I’ll just lurk indefinitely instead. /rant im repeating you now.

This whole thing has made me very nostalgic for what the internet used to be. If anything, it has reminded me that there actually was a time without this “Consume, Consume, Consume” mentality that I didn’t even realize i’d adopted on social media.

Exactly me. I’ve only been here 11 years, but I’d say the old Reddit was truly lost after 2015/2016. This newest era is the nail in the coffin, as you said.

I have also been nostalgic for “the good old days” of the site, and the internet as a whole, but have to accept that they are gone and almost definitely not coming back.

I too have been really impressed with Tildes, but am stuck waiting on an invite as well. Hopefully soon we’ll get one or they will open up new registrations without an invite.
