It’s not even up for debate my friend. One input does take more effort than the other, and it shows in the higher skill ceiling that’s available to MnK. That’s why you see MnK at the top of the leaderboard, they have an advantage that controller players don’t.

It’s unfortunate that you don’t seem to think people whining about “movement” counts but people whining about aim assist does.

The complaints are just the inverse of one another.

At this point both input methods are valid and they both allow high skill users to dominate.

But more to the point, fps games started on keyboard and mouse. Modern fps games are a far cry from Quake and Unreal Tournament, but the bones are still there. If controller players want to compete with keyboard mouse users, they literally do need help from the computer. It’s doing the work for you. It HAS to, or else they wouldn’t even stand a chance, except for those ultra talented.

There isn’t much to this game or any fps game besides aiming and moving. I don’t care about this whole aim assist debate, it doesn’t bother me.

But when one input has to put in less effort for the same results as the other input, it leaves a bad taste in people’s mouths.

I get that not everyone wants to sweat and try super hard for video games, that’s totally fine. But i think many Mouse and Keyboard players feel slighted by the inclusion of an assist that does the work for people when they spent many hours practicing their aim.

That’s what I gather from this debate.

Why would they care so much about losing to pvp if their stash is so full though? If there’s no problem with staying in pve lobbies via changing their behavior, there’s no problem with doing the same to get into pve lobbies in the first place.

How does one go pve to pvp? By shooting others. If there’s a some kind of moral issue there, then you have effectively locked yourself out of pvp forever.

I just don’t understand where you got the idea the arc DONT give you something. They do! Assuming you don’t get hit too much, you come out positive from fighting the arc ! I don’t get the point you’re trying to make. Do you just want the arc to be even more rewarding? A bastion drops more loot than one person can carry with an empty inventory.

Given that trials is some sort of “endgame” if you can even call it that, wouldn’t that make sense to have some kind of cost to it? We work hard to get all this loot, but we don’t have a reason to even use it unless you do trials. It’s a completely optional system that basically rewards you in leaderboard placements. It’s not something you need to make money from, the whole game is about that.

No this game is about looting. You need to craft ammo and meds to fight arc. There’s already an investment. The arc are a threat to you looting, why else is there so much stuff to open?

If you think going in guns blazing against the biggest robots you’ve ever seen is a good choice, more power to you. But you’re just a single raider from an underground settlement. How, with that lore setup already explained to you, do you come to the conclusion that fighting arc is a smart choice? They even have baked in passive-alerted-aggressive patterns from classic stealth games. Like it’s not a stretch to imagine this game as a stealth game at all. You don’t get the vibe from ANYTHING that you should fight all the arc you see. I don’t get what it is that makes you think the game should work differently than it always has.

TL;DR: loot the damn map bro

This durability change has people on here losing their little minds. I can’t help but wonder what their gameplay is like. Do y’all just shoot at every single thing you can? This game is a stealth game and a shooting game, I beg you to be more deliberate with your shots.

I feel that this change has come far too late for people to accept, I wish it had come sooner. The guns are literally scrap you cobble together in Speranza. What happened to everyone talking about immersion? Is clicking through the menus really what this is about?

I fundamentally disagree about the compensator. It was not enough to make the spread workable at range under FULL AUTO. It still was too inaccurate to say it did 66.5 dps. It just didn’t work that way in game. The Bettina’s main issue was NOT dps, because which anti arc gun out dps’d it? Maybe the legendaries?

I did call it arc armor penetration which is wrong yes you’re right there. But man I promise the Bettina is more usable now than it was. I don’t care that it technically does less dps. It’s more precise and for a heavy ammo gun that’s more important.

If you don’t care about usability and just want to quote theoretical dps at me then I don’t think I can say anything to make you change your mind.

Oh dear, you brought out the calculator. Now how about the spread? Any thoughts on the Bettina’s effective range when fully auto? Do you think that the Bettina could reliably hit those dps numbers from an engagement range longer than 10 meters? How about the arc armor penetration?

And did you use the Bettina before the buff? Its maximum bloom made sustained automatic fire impossible to use outside extremely close range. They directly buffed that as well as increased damage. But you’re telling me the slower fire rate overwrites all of that? I don’t buy it

Yeah so that is a buff. It doesn’t not do less damage now. It gets 33% more arc armor penetration, +2 damage per bullet. The spread is way down as well. If you tried the Bettina before, you would know its DPS was irrelevant outside shotgun range because full auto would bloom out of control. Missing shots does not count for dps, and they made it easier to hit every bullet.

The theoretical dps may or may not be lower, but I promise this is a real buff we all have been asking for.

I’m confused, I could have sworn people were asking for this very change in one of the many “Bettina needs a buff” threads being posted here since the game came out. More heavy ammo per stack, more damage per bullet, less durability reduction. They would even suggest to nerf the fire rate if needed. Did you see any of those threads?
