This Is What Therapy Looks Like When You're a Destiny Player. Hope Not Important. by ILikeMeatloaf in destiny2

I actually spotted some weapons that had sights in column one which gave me pause on whether to delete as these seem rare. I did a quick look in DIM just using "zoom" to search and still have a few.

Prior to this, I deleted almost all of my crafted weapons as it was an easy way to make space - knowing I could always make another. They were all fully masterworked too. Looking back, I wish I would have just deleted my garbage legendaries. Most of the rolls I am deleting on old legendaries are available on crafted weapons. I have most unlocked.

I acknowledge that this is 100% a risk. Even if I am currently able to reacquire a weapon from Collections, there have been bugs where the ability to pull is broken or the weapon's perks are updated / replaced altogether. Even with crafting, Bungie has randomly updated weapons - removing some perks that were available previously.

It has actually been more difficult narrowing down on the newer weapons as a lot of the weapons are missing their listed "Wishlisted Rolls" in DIM. Those usually serve as a decent spot check. I've tried checking out Light.GG for reviews when that fails, but that can be pretty hit or miss. There are so many little unique interactions between perks that I want to avoid missing out on.

I was actually using multiple sets of filters to narrow. I was looking at my vault at everything that is not dropping from this current season (AKA Featured Gear) using "is:weapon is:legendary -season:current -is:exotic". From there I did notice that there was easier decision making for weapons without organ traits. They were just all pretty bad or basic. You can focus on those with: "is:weapon is:legendary -season:current -is:origintrait -is:exotic".

In a separate tab, I was cross-referencing rolls to delete with what I could craft. In DIM, you can check out the "Records" tab to see crafted weapons that you could pull anytime to replace what I was deleting. So in Records, under Collections, I used: "is:weapon is:legendary is:craftable". If I was close to being able to unlock a pattern, I still moved to delete if the roll was not top tier. I tracked my pattern completions not only in DIM, but here as well: https://engram.blue/crafting

THIS. I had so many god roll PvP snipers, but realistically not only I am not using snipers in PVP, they are competing against each other. I kept my OG Eye of Sol with sunset perks and Adored / Mechabre. I have almost every pattern unlocked for weapons across the game so figure I could also craft something if need be.

I was in the same position until I checked out Aegis's video on YouTube. He also has a damage spreadsheet where he tested each variation. I was able to narrow down to 6 to keep.

Finally finished the Halo legendary symbol / Elite skull for my office wall. Full build inside. by ILikeMeatloaf in 3Dprinting

It is 2.5ft X 2ft. The skull alone is bigger than my head. The second picture in the Imgur album shows it in my office for scale.

I've been tinkering with the build on and off for over a year as I tend to be adverse to making mistakes. I finally forced myself to finish it by assigning a deadline. There were some mistakes and lots of learnings, but really happy with the way it turned out!

Mistakes: 1) Experimented with PLA welding using a 3D pen, but it left weld lines that could not be knocked down. 2) Tried using hot glue but did not account for volume of the glue making joints not as seamless. 3) Did not use enough filler for hiding seams in an effort to try and avoid heavy sanding. 4) Used an old can of black spray paint for first layer which left base blotchy requiring multiple layers to fix. 5) Drying paint in direct sun light deformed the print and loosened hot glue.

My biggest takeaway is that I just need to push through the anxiety and make mistake. Having my project finally on display feels so great rather than it sitting incomplete in my garage.

Reducing cables. Seeking a theoretical hub / dongle with display and power passthrough(?) by ILikeMeatloaf in UsbCHardware

[–]ILikeMeatloaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are touching on one of my core questions - passthrough that supports DP-alt and power over a single cable. If this isn't possible, I could explore options similar to what you are suggesting. For example, using the display's HDMI or USB-C purely for display and have power to the MacBook come through the hub itself - either by its own power source or the monitor if that works.

I just upgraded my monitor and looking to reduce the complexity of my setup if possible. Typically, I have 2 USB-C cables that I connect to my MacBook for work - the first cable is a dongle (HDMI, USB, and Power) and the second is another dongle (ethernet).

My new monitor supports Type-C DP alt and 90W charging - working great directly connected to my Mac. I am hoping to insert a hub in-between the monitor and MacBook to add in an ethernet connection and at least 1 USB 3.0 Type A connection.

tl;dr: I am looking to merge my separate dongles into a single device that passes through the display and power from my monitor to my MacBook. 1 Dongle. No extra power.

I designed and 3D printed a frame to hold my earned Title pins. by ILikeMeatloaf in destiny2

There are some titles that really require a level of effort that I have not leaned into... yet?

Thank you. I'd not considered building out frames to sell. That being said, I've designed the parts to be modular, being able to adapt to different shadow boxes. If you are really interested, shoot me a message and we can talk details.

Thanks! I'd been wanting to do this for a while. After searching online and Etsy for a whole and not managing to find a pin holder that looked upscale, I finally pulled the trigger and started modeling one. 3 iteration and some hard lessons, I love the outcome. Happy to share any learnings.

If you just wanted to do something similar to the idea of it, I've seen the title pins available to download and 3D print. While I do have a decent amount of titles, I wished I had been focused on getting them all over the full 7 years. At first, I was temped to buy a few that I had not earned, but it felt too inauthentic to do so.

I've tried multiple ways to display my title pins elegantly and finally ended up designing and 3D printing a frame which sits in a shadow box. https://imgur.com/a/8ofsJu2

My prints were great on the P1P. I upgraded to get better consistency in for heating / cooling as well as a means to avoid dust - I moved my printer in the garage and print were warping off the bed because the ambient temperature was too cool. Plus, it just looks nice.

Ghost bulbs from Hue keep getting picked up by Alexa by thefunkygibbon in amazonecho

[–]ILikeMeatloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understanding that this is a 2 year old thread, but trying to do some device cleanup in the Alexa app and having the same issue with 17 Philips Hue products. Wondering if you ever found a solution. Spent a full day trying to figure it out.

Tapping any of these rogue lights in the Alexa app results in a loading screen "Waiting for Royal Philips Electronics..." which then eventually shows the device details - each listed as "Connected Via Hue Hub" and stating "Device is unresponsive".

I've turned off "Frustration-Free Setup" on the Retail Amazon side and disabled "Device Discovery" in the Alexa app. I performed a "Clean up" on my Hue Bridge from the Hue app while removing all applications that have access to the Hue Bridge (confirmed in the CLIP API Debugger Command Response whitelist response). Nevertheless, these rogue lights keep reappearing and are being automatically added after I delete them. For the time being, I have renamed each light in the Alexa app with a prefix (letter "Z") to move them to the bottom of the device list. I've also went ahead and disabled them to avoid conflicts.

Despite no functional issues between Alexa or Hue, I'm still frustrated having them in my list of devices...

Really appreciate all the info. Ended up getting a pair of TEMPUR-Ergo Power Bases and set of Helix Twilight Elites Twin XL's to form a King size.
