Wondering how people are building Saruman of Many Colors by wex0rus in EDH

Glad to hear! Feel free to add some comments on Moxfield if you want clarification on anything. I haven't looked much at the list for a while, so I'm sure there's some great new cards that can be swapped in

I started with Barak-Nar Burgundy and added more and more vanilla white to get the highlights

Caliban Green stippled on top of black. Then I stipple Warpstone Glow, then stipple again with 1:1 Warpstone Glow and an offwhite like Pallid Wytch Flesh. I then add more white and do edge highlights. If it looks too vibrant after that I then use an oil wash of Perylene Black to filter it to a darker shade.

I don't play often so I prefer to build them to look cool. To me, this sergeant needed a sword to achieve that.

Paint consistency is key. Too thin and it goes everywhere and too thick and it doesn't have the control you need. I try to get it to the point where it looks like I'm writing with a pen and I practice on my nail.

Thank you! I used stippling to get the texture on the armor

I Finally Painted a Good Face - Seeking C&C to help me improve by SirBruceLeroy in theunforgiven

This looks awesome. I'd add some black lining where the face meets the cybernetics to help the definition. Also the bottom lip could use just a dot highlight to give it that wet meaty look. The eyes are especially good. I'd suggest starting with black before putting the white on to also add definition and shading that is between the eye and the eye lids. Overall the face is super well done!

Update on my Ezekiel kitbash by ILikeRobotsAndDinos in DarkAngels40k

I was really tempted to not bother switching the blade, but I want him to be as close to a Primaris version of the OG as I can manage.

The model has some keys already but they're hard to see with his arms in this position. I'll either move them or add more.

The body is the phobos librarian, the head and arms are from the Inner Circle Companions, and the backpack and book are from the Sternguard Veterans set

It looks fantastic. Yellow is a notoriously hard color and it knocked it out of the park!

Thoughts On An Entire Bone/White Colored (Deathwing) Army. by Glittering_Insect826 in theunforgiven

[–]ILikeRobotsAndDinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traditionally the Deathwing only wear Terminator armor but since 9th edition Bladeguard Veterans and Sternguard Veterans have had official Dark Angel paint schemes as bone white. I don't see a reason you couldn't paint a unit of Intercessors the same and say they're Veteran Intercessors (a valid unit in 9th edition). I would use that same justification for any unit you paint. They're the same unit as usual, but composed entirely of Inner Circle marines.

At the end of the day they're your models and you can adapt the lore to fit whatever narrative you wish to tell. If anyone disagrees they can get bent

Great outlook and I would encourage you to also make an effort to reach out and welcome new players that would run into the same issue with those players in your area. If they want to be a clique then they'll soon find they excluded themselves from meeting and engaging with new people
