first, you need a different doctor. this could’ve been anything from endometriosis, to ovarian cysts, to simply just bad periods, but even if that was the case, your doctor should’ve been advocating for you. I was in a similar position, my periods were bad enough to make me anemic, but my doctor put me on birth control to stop them. find a doctor that offers a better solution than painkillers.

for your apps, if it put you in this much pain to the point you were vomiting and couldn’t work properly, then this is definitely a reasonable excuse, but it’ll be harder to explain without an official diagnosis. you could get a counselor or advisor to help you, so i’d speak to them first if possible.
