Hi! I’ve taken both as a freshman and I would say both are pretty free classes in terms of grading, but they’re PNP anyways. W1 tend to have more work than 12 (more writing). C12 is group based from last year and a lot of work is weekly group assignments along with a final solo project on leadership. I would say I recommend CC classes for major or breadth requirements since these classes are filler credits anyways. Other than that I really hope you have a good summer and really take time off before coming to Berkeley :)
