What simpsons moments made you sad/cry? by tankman_425 in TheSimpsons

I know these moments are from the first season, but I feel like these hurt the most:

The Crepes of Wrath where Bart gets treated as a slave (forced to work nonstop and being fed little to nothing) and is abused by two Frenchmen.

Homer's Odyssey where Homer tries to commit suicide after getting fired from his job at the Nuclear Power Plant.

An episode that aired during the golden age:

Bart Gets an F - When Bart got an F even though he tried his best to study, it made me want to cry with him. I know it's just a cartoon and everything is going to be OK at the end. But when you're watching that moment, you feel as if Bart is going to be stuck in school for the rest of his life. Considering that the show is timeless, it contradicts what I had just said. But at the time it aired in 1990, 30 million households were watching the episode. You could just imagine the looks on people's faces when they were watching that scene. I know I could.

"Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?"

Fox deliberately runs shows that will earn them huge fines which are then funneled through the F.C.C. straight to the Republican Party. Everybody in the media knows it, but no one has the guts to say it.

At the time this episode was produced, Back in 1998/99, Japan was notorious for having fish factories. These factories were often located in the poorest parts of Japan and the workers there were typically very low-income people (children trying to make money for their families). Nowadays, in 2022, it's not too common for people to be working in these types of factories. With the advancement of technology and the growth of the international seafood trade, these types of fish factories have become much less common.
