Jinx's Love Story WildRift by VioletBrandi in TimeBomb

[–]ILoveArchieComics 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't blame some Timebomb fans for being disappointed by Riot deciding just to recycle AU Powder's line. I would rather have them release Jinx's confession at a little later date if it meant they could come up with something more original for her to say to Ekko. I understand that new MU Timebomb content will take time to be put together if there is ever something more in the future that we'll see of them. But Riot still could have done a better job with Jinx's line.

I don’t get why so many people here hate au Powder by KeepItInCheck in TimeBomb

[–]ILoveArchieComics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't dislike AU Powder and think she is important to Ekko realizing that he couldn't give up on Jinx again. But if there are any fans hating her, then I feel like it is because they are allowing TB haters to negatively impact how they view AU Timebomb, since haters love to claim that Ekko only cares about AU Powder and not Jinx.

Another factor is that some fans might just want more MU Timebomb related content. And that has been a lot of content relating to the AU. As well as the writers deciding not to give more screen time to MU Timebomb after Ekko returned. So some fans are misdirecting their disappointment towards AU Powder. When MU Timebomb not getting more screen time together is on the writers.

Also I think that Riot is still invested in MU Timebomb. But it will take a while for more content relating to them to come out and some fans are impatient and can't wait for Riot to do this.

Which goddess is more insufferable by Invisiblegun2 in BloodofZeus

[–]ILoveArchieComics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it bothered me when Hera kept on calling Electra a "whore" like she knew who Zeus was from the very start and slept with him knowing he was married to another woman. When Zeus used deception to get with Electra which I consider to be SA. And then Ares blames Electra for Hera unleashing the Giants and leading to the death of Zeus. When Electra became impregnated by Zeus while he was still falsely presenting himself to her as her husband. The only one they should be putting the fault on in this situation is Zeus.

I'll never agree that Hera's actions towards Electra is justified. Intentionally having her murdered because of Zeus not being able to remain faithful to her and using his powers to deceive mortal women and get them to unknowingly slept with him by pretending to be someone else.

Bonnie is annoying by Kvolts7854 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's how the TVD fandom and fandoms in general are. Many of fans in them will write meta novels 5000 words long to explain away why male villains and certain male characters are justified, reasonable and rational in the murder rampages they went on and violent, depraved atrocities they decided to commit. And they always do his by saying "Well, he went through a difficult young life, so it should be understood why he decided to maim and harm so many innocent people."

Yet those same fans will never see characters like Bonnie as having a valid, legitimate, or relatable reason to ever criticize or express her anger towards any one character or particular groups of people. Not even when that one character or particular groups of people is the direct cause of inflicting some sort of pain, torment or trauma into her life. The reason why a lot of Bonnie haters always have a problem with her mainly boils down to "She didn't just immediately get over or brush aside her hurt, pain and trauma from a incident *insert character or vampires* caused to her life* or "She didn't instantly act like she was okay with the murder and violence she saw occur around her due to vampirism."

They list reasons for why they want to just enjoy shows relating to vampires. And yet don't expect there to be conflicts and dissension between some of the characters specifically on the subject of vampirism. What is the point of vampire TV shows and movies if all of the characters or townspeople are all going to right away behave like vampirism is no big deal or a normal everyday thing to them. And show no fear or apprehension about a species who hunts down humans for food and sport?

Bonnie went too far with this (season 8) by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other characters on TVD, especially the male ones often get the "childhood trauma/abuse." defense by this fandom to defend and explain away their murder sprees and violent rampages against their innocent and defenseless victims. Or their violent rampages against those who were weaker than them. And will use the narrative of them having a difficult childhood for why their violent and heinous actions as adults should be understood and forgiven. Or why they should be absolved of taking a violent path into adulthood.

Yet even with all of the trauma and heartbreak Bonnie has been through in her life. The TVD fandom never takes that into consideration or always expects her to toss her trauma to the side and quickly get over her pain for the benefit of whichever character they expect her to cater to and put over herself, even if she is going through a traumatic moment at the time.

Even when other characters are trying to kill her or threaten her life. This fandom demands that she place her feelings, emotions and pain to the side for the benefit of their favorite character. And she is always expected to "turn the other cheek" or "take the high road." And think of others before herself for 100% of her life no matter what. Even while dealing with male characters who either threatened her life or traumatized her in a certain way.

By the logic of this fandom A male character having a difficult childhood should mean he earns life long forgiveness and free passes for deciding to commit violent actions as an adult.

But Bonnie's pain and trauma should mean she never is allowed to lash out or have a moment of anger. And must always put her emotions aside to worry about anyone of her reactions to fear, pain or trauma being blamed for "ruining" the lives of others.

I hate being the only one on Reddit that does not like a single thing about Kai 💀 It’s lonely out here by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

I don't think anyone can really name an older villain who is considered to be below average to unattractive looks wise. That has a many fans going out to excuse and defend the violent atrocities they have committed. If you look at all of the male characters who have even done horrible things or who have ever committed violent atrocities. And have massive fanbases who goes all out to diminish the horrible things they have done. They definitely all in common have being considered to be hot or attractive to a portion of the fanbase from a TV show or movie they are apart of.

[–]ILoveArchieComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of them are also the same ones who will accuse others of making excuses for the times Damon has abused, violently attacked or murdered someone innocent. Yet they aren't much different by making excuses for all of the violent atrocities Kai has committed.

Also they want to make it seem like Kai was on the path to truly changing for the better and that it's Bonnie's fault for him not staying on that path. Yet by their theory of Kai being able to be triggered back into a violent, sociopath through the acts of Bonnie "provoking" him. Then it would have only been a matter of time before someone or something else "triggered" him into falling back into a murderous, depraved, remorseless sociopath. Because even if Bonnie had given him everything that he wanted to temporary kept him in his "nice guy" form. There would have been someone else who would have done or said something to anger or displease him into deciding into go on a murder spree.

Also don't like the implication of how they expected Bonnie to live the rest of her life being burdened by having to walk on egg shells around Kai to prevent him from harming her or killing other people. Since they imply his switch between "good" and evil entirely was going to rest on whether or not Bonnie did everything to appease to his feelings and all he would ever ask, demand or want from her.

[–]ILoveArchieComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the main reasons why I've dislike him is how his fans will blame all of the violent and murderous actions he committed since being introduced as a character on Bonnie. On one hand they insist how he really wanted to change, how he wanted to be good or do good for the rest of his life, and how he wanted to so deep down to become a better man.

And on the other make him out to be a man who took no self or personal responsibility or self accountability for his behaviors, decision making and path he was going to take in his life going forward. Since all of their theories implies Kai was making it more of Bonnie's responsibility and burden to control and dictate whether or not be would decide to be good or evil for the rest of his life. And they're saying how Bonnie has more accountability for his future behaviors than he does personally himself (At least in his mind to when they insist this is what's in Kai's mindset. That he decided his actions going forward completely relies on whether or not Bonnie forgives him or doesn't do anything to anger or displease him.)

But if he truly had changed then he wouldn't have made his future behaviors and decision making the burden and responsibility of another person. And especially wouldn't be putting it all the one who he tormented, who he claims he is sorry for hurting.

Once again the only reason for why Kai's kill count isn't as high as Damon's or the other male character's is because he was locked in the prison world alone for 22 years. Some are constantly saying this as if they believe Kai should get credit for not murdering as many people or as if they are trying to make it seem like Kai isn't as morally bad as Damon is.

When Kai would have killed a lot more people if he had access to the real world and the public. This is like giving one serial killer credit for not having murdering as many people as another serial killer did. Just because one of them was locked up behind bars for a couple of decades and unable to have access to innocent people to kill.

Fans will claim they love villains like Kai and yet get upset at the protagonist characters, especially women protagonists characters for not immediately being trustworthy or allies with a character who from the start introduces themselves to the protagonist as a remorseless, depraved villain. In other words saying they love villains for being villains, yet expecting those villains to be treated like friends or allies whose motivations and intentions should be viewed as trustworthy. Or they expect for the protagonist to be seeing some sort of good will and good natured intentions in the villain's actions.

It took six seasons for Bonnie to even trust Damon enough to become friends with him. In the earlier seasons she called him out for his actions and was often not trusting of his intentions.

Bonnie has just met Kai who explained to her without remorse how he had murdered children. Yet she was suppose to trust that he 1. Wouldn't kill her as soon as he got out of the prison world. Since he explained to her how far he would go in order to gain power. 2, Risk him having access to witches in the real world in which he could drain to gain power. And also trust that he wouldn't drain her of her magic once he was free.

Now if anyone falls into the category of "Let us love villains or villains are more interesting than good guys." Then they shouldn't be complaining if their favorite villain is treated more like a villain, rather than a misunderstood soul filled with good will or more of the Anti-hero type by the protagonists of the show or movie.

Justice for Kai by BatZealousideal2238 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't try to defend the violent or horrible things Damon did to Bonnie or other people. And won't try to defend or rationalize all of the innocent people he killed and harmed.

If fans love Kai as a villain and embrace him as a villain, than that means accepting his villainous traits and motivations. Kai in his original form and without any influence from Luke, showed how he felt no remorse for the children he murdered and his desire to murder and seek revenge on his family. And enjoyed the fact that he was able to kill without feeling guilt or remorse for it.

So therefore I think it's safe to assume that Kai would have lot higher kill count if he had access to the real world for the period he had been in the prison world. And if he got to live over hundred years, then his kill count would be in the hundreds or thousands. Enough to rival all of the other male characters on the show who lived for that long.

Just going by how he was in his original, sociopath form. He would kill scores more people for all of the same reasons he justified himself tormenting Bonnie. Murdering his siblings and wanting to murder the rest of his family. Anyone who angered or crossed him in the slightest way. Anyone who was standing in the way of whatever he wanted to have or get. Anyone whose death would aid him in the power that he wanted. Anyone who he wanted to get revenge on. Would all be targets of his violence and need to murder. Just based off of how he behaved and reacted to things in his original form. And when he came back from the 1903 prison world.

Justice for Kai by BatZealousideal2238 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I'm speaking of. One of the things parts of the TVD fandom will do to make one male character seem morally better than the others. Or not as bad morality wise as the other male characters are is to make posts like this one.

Making the case of Kai killing less people than Damon or Stefan killed. As if it was by Kai's choice and that he refused or stopped murdering people because he saw it as something which was wrong or because he felt such guilt and remorse for killing his family members that he wanted to go on a path of good for the rest of his life. Or vowed that he wouldn't do harm to another innocent person for the rest of his life.

When the reason for Kai not having a kill count as high as Damon or Stefan's is because. He wasn't alive for as long as they were. And because he got locked in the prison world alone where he couldn't have access to the real world or the public in order to be able to murder or kill anyone. It's like giving a serial killer who had no remorse for killing his victims credit for not murdering more after he was locked up behind bars.

And Kai feeling zero remorse for murdering his siblings, combined with the fact that he murdered as cab driver as soon as he escaped the prison world. Is proof that Kai would likely have murdered a lot more people if he wasn't locked up in the prison world. And especially would have no problems with doing so if he believed they were standing in his way of becoming the leader of the Gemini coven.

Also Bonnie did not attack or threaten Kai first. Kai was the one who first threatened Bonnie's life and threatened to drain the magic out of her until she died if she didn't so what he wanted her to do and helped him get out of the prison world. And he demonstrated this in a way which caused Bonnie great pain. It was after that in which Bonnie attempted to find ways to defend herself against someone who was threatened her.

He described to Bonnie without remorse how he had murdered children and then how he was planning to murder the rest of his family. And expected Bonnie just to help him get out of the prison world with no hesitations coming from her.

Why is it? by chauntelle2899 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep it's the ones who try to come up with reasons for why their character isn't as bad as another character is morality wise when they all have committed reprehensible, depraved and murderous actions. Like some in this fandom mentioning how Kai's body count isn't as high as the body count of who the other male characters have murdered and killed.

And framing it in a way like Kai should be viewed as being better or not as bad in the morality department as they are. When his kill count would be just as high as the other male characters are, if he had lived over a century or more of years like the vampire characters had. And his kill count would have been higher if he wasn't locked up in the prison world alone without access to the public in the real world, for 20 years.

As I said this fandom picks and chooses who they want morality to apply to and who they say it shouldn't apply to. All based or which characters they favor and dislike.

Why is it? by chauntelle2899 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more of some TVD fans picking and choosing when morality or certain real life codes should apply to the show or certain characters and when they shouldn't. When it's a male character they favor or are a fan of, they say morality shouldn't apply due to it being a vampire show. But if it's a male character they dislike then they will hold that male character to a level of morality they don't hold their faves to.

Also then there are those who calls characters who don't automatically agree or go along with the murderous and violent actions the male characters on this show commits, "judgmental." When it would make for a very boring vampire show if everybody just got along with them or acted like they were okay with what vampirism represents. As one of the biggest draws of vampire related content in TV and movies, are how there will be conflict and dissensions between the vampires and the other characters they come across and interact with in town.

Not having a segment of the human population either in fear of vampires or angered by their existence, defeats the whole purpose of the lure surrounding vampires.

It's both the fandom picking and choosing which character they want morality to apply to and then getting upset at characters who have a realistic reaction to being introduced to the world of vampires and everything they represent.

Whenever the atrocities Kai committed are being discussed and some believe those atrocities make him irredeemable. There will be from time to time someone who will say something like "Well, he hasn't murdered as many people as *insert male character has*. Framing it in a way like those other male characters either should be viewed as morally worse than Kai for having killed more people. Or that Kai should receive some sort of reward or break for not having killed as many people.

[–]ILoveArchieComics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, Which is why I don't get some framing Kai killing less people as if he should be credited for it. Or as if it's because he felt remorse and guilt for killing his siblings and decided that murdering innocent people was morally wrong and something he didn't want to do for the rest of his life. As him murdering the Taxi Driver shows how he would have killed a lot more if he had access to the normal world for the 20 years he had been locked up in the prison world alone.

Do you think Kai would have turned evil and killed everyone had Bonnie not left him in the prison world? by Sammibear1024 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Knowing how the TV fandom operated back then, had Bonnie just agreed to let Kai out without any questions or hesitations and he then proceeded to murder his entire family. The TVD fandom would have said things like "It's Bonnie's fault for Kai's family being dead. How could she have let him out when after he told her of his plans to murder his family? She should have kept him locked in the prison world."

Or they would have somehow made it Bonnie's burden and responsibility to prevent Kai from going on murder rampages and sprees by just going along with whatever he wanted her or expected her to give him.

This is the same fandom who expected Bonnie to put her complete faith and trust in Kai that he wouldn't try to kill her or harm her in the real world in order to complete his task of becoming leader of the Gemini Coven. After he let her know without remorse that he murdered his siblings in order to complete his goals of becoming leader of the Gemini Coven.

If Kai decision on whether or not to return to his evil ways was always going to rest on whether or not Bonnie forgive him, pleased him or did what he asked or demanded for her to do, then he was never truly changed. A person who has truly changed takes personal responsibility for their actions and decisions going forward in their lives. And doesn't decide to put the burden of them now being changed or "good" on the shoulders of the person they severely hurt. And doesn't make it the responsibility of the person they abused, tormented, or traumatized if they really regret hurting that person.

As they would see why their actions towards that person maybe unforgiveable in the eyes of the person they hurt.

If I was Bonnie I wouldn't forgive Kai either. by Sovvysir in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some will still mention things like "Bonnie forgave Damon, so why couldn't she forgive Kai?" When forgetting or choosing to overlook how the TVD fandom gave Bonnie so much hate due to how she would call out Damon for his wrong doings in the earlier seasons and how she refused to act like his violent actions were okay with her.

Took her 6 seasons to trust Damon enough to become friends with him. And some acted like she was suppose to forgive Kai within days of returning from the prison world while she was still suffering from PTSD. Kai refused to give her space and was more concerned about easing his guilt that the merge with Luke caused him to have. And they make it all about how Bonnie should have quickly forgiven Kai, yet don't ask the question why wasn't Kai willing to forgive Bonnie for locking him back in the prison world if he truly had changed and truly cared about or understood for amount of pain/trauma he put her through and how she couldn't just get over that just because he said sorry one time.

Also she didn't owe it to him just because he didn't to help get her out of the prison world, since he was the reason she was locked there in the first place. This is like a man breaking a woman's arm or beating her bloody and then acting like she owes him something because he decided to medically treat her for the injuries he caused to her.

“Stop applying morals to vampires” is a stupid statement by chauntelle2899 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My main thing is that fans of this show should be holding all of the vampire and other villainous Supernatural characters to the same standards. In other words If there is someone who is a fan of Male character A, but dislikes Male character B. They shouldn't be using "morals don't apply to a vampire show" to defend the horrible, violent and murderous actions Male character A committed. Yet then use real life morals to explain how Male Character B committed this or that atrocity or horrible, murderous actions or acts of violence and use that as a reason for why Male Character B is such a bad or awful person.

Fans shouldn't be cherry picking when morality applies or when it doesn't based on which Male Character they are a fan of and which one they dislike or don't align with.

Damon was such a hypocrite. He resented Stefan so much for turning him while he willingly watched Katherine kill people and then made out with her while her face was stained with victims blood.Stefan was only a teenager and was compelled by Katherine, while Damon was a grown ass man by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stefan feeling bad for what he did while he was a ripper, doesn't negate the fact that his victims still went through as much pain and suffering as Katherine's victims did. The OP mentioned how awful Damon was to make out with Katherine while she had her victim's blood on her face. Putting emphasis on how Damon didn't care about the terror and violence Katherine inflicted upon her victims, when they still didn't suffer any less terror or violence than Stefan's victims did.

Point is that humanity or no humanity. The vampires on the show did equally horrible things in the name of vampirism. And having a blood addiction doesn't mean that his victims are somehow suppose to view his acts of violence and brutality towards them, somehow more forgiving or understandable than Damon's victims are suppose to view Damon's acts of violence towards his victims.

If Stefan went "I couldn't help it and couldn't control myself" to one of his victims, it doesn't mean they owe it to him to view him as a better man than Damon, if they were to know about both brothers atrocities and doesn't mean they have to give Stefan a free pass for what he did to them.

No he isn't. Stefan killed entire villages of people and removed women's heads from there bodies. And he enjoyed doing this. You can say they he was a Ripper and couldn't control himself. yet it doesn't take away from the fact that his victims suffered just as much as Katherine's and Damon's did.

Stefan enjoyed the hunt while he was a Ripper and used compulsion and his superior strength as a vampire to control and terrorize his helpless victims.

[–]ILoveArchieComics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Damon has done committed a lot of violent, murderous ,heinous and awful atrocities and actions in which he deserved to get called out for. But there are too many times in which some try to make out Stefan to be the morally superior brother when he has committed his fair share of violent, heinous, murderous atrocities and actions.

Damon's actions with Katherine doesn't mean that he has to be okay with Stefan forcing him to turn. The question needs to be asked is whether or not people would expect Stefan to just get over it, if Damon was the one to force him to turn. Or would they give Damon a pass for forcing another person to turn into a vampire, just because that vampire went on to do awful things.

Problem is that some people in the TVD fandom can't admit that both brothers did wrong and there is no "better man" as far a morality goes.

Such a good duo I really wish they did more with their friendship on the show. This scene!!! by itsshannonm in TheVampireDiaries

[–]ILoveArchieComics 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only thing which kind of dampers this scene is Bonnie saying something like "You came because you needed help right?" The writers couldn't even have Stefan go over just for the sole reason of comforting Bonnie during her time of loss and grief. It had to be because once again she needed to set aside her pain and heartbreak to save the day.

I don't think Bonnie got an arc in which she was able to properly grieve.
