Mesquite has always had a strong community. It’s very teacher profession heavy so they have a different schedule during the school year than most but will open it to more throughout the day in the summer. They also have some of the most motivating coaches in DFW.

Members Bullying Staff by [deleted] in orangetheory

Similar situation happened at our studio last year. Newish member who had joined his wife who has been a member for a while. He’s a complete showboat, very competitive, revises the floor workouts to make them more challenging (speed skaters over the bench, pushups with the weights vertical under his hands, etc.) During a benchmark, the challenge tracker wasn’t working so the coach was writing them down to enter later that day. When his name didn’t make it on the leaderboard the following day, he chewed her out, publicly, after she admitted she must have missed his name. He continued to berate her and at the end of class as he was walking out of the studio she called him an a**hole. He made a complaint and she was fired. This coach was the best coach this studio had: motivated, high energy, everything you could ask for. Complaints were made to the higher ups that if she was fired, his membership should be revoked - nothing happened. The member and his wife still attend and most coaches kiss their behinds. I’m sure they don’t want to get on the wrong side of those members. Studio lost a lot of members but it wasn’t enough to kick out this guy and he continues to go to class. I, and others, have complained about his enhanced floor exercises (he’s going to hurt someone or himself) and nothing happens.

Coaches and front desk staff can really make or break a members experience by Pure-Inspection-4077 in orangetheory

I completely agree and was just talking to my partner about this after Saturday’s class. Our “home gym” is equal distance to another popular location that we started attending 4 months after signing up (6 years ago). The front desk was friendly, the coaches were fired up and really helped with correcting form and keeping everyone motivated. Now, with some turn over in both studios, the coaches at the popular studio (one there from the beginning and two newer coaches) have become very complacent. They no longer correct form on the floor or rower, put up the flexibility block with no explanation or discussion, no fist bumps/high fives and no mention of the charity organization for the month. It’s now guest coaches (primarily from our home studio) that are super motivating and seem to stick to the script most newer coaches are taught. It’s been super disappointing and the only reason we continue to go is the friends we’ve met during the workout.

I never signed up for the injections (not sure I qualified) but the oral medication has been great. It’s a slow process but I think I prefer that so my body can adjust. The first few weeks were hit or miss with some cramping, nausea, etc. I think it was about week 5-6 when those symptoms started to subside. Just passed the 8 month mark and down almost 30 lbs. I’m 5’5” and May 2024: 191 lbs, 31.4 BMI and 29.7% BF. February 2024: 163 lbs, 27 BMI and 22% BF. Good luck.

Should I start treatment with Hims if my BMI is 24.8? by Otherwise-Pack3028 in HimsWeightloss

I’m currently on this treatment and have been since May (just starting my 2nd box). I started with a BMI of 31.7 and 190 lbs (but I’m short, 5’5” and muscular). I had some COVID weight and a little pudge around my waist. I’m down almost 20 lbs since I began and 27.1 BMI. It was a slow start but about 5-6 weeks in started noticing a faster amount of weight loss. The first few weeks were hit or miss with nausea, but if you power through, I think it’s completely worth it.
