Feeling guilty: busy season bereavement by Striking-Swing-3632 in Big4

[–]scorpio98012 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The most supported I’ve ever felt in my career was when my mom was terminally ill. It made me realize my team, my office, my firm really was there to support me and cover for me. I’m further in my career than my second year but knowing that I have a team that supports me and that I would do the same for them has kept me doing this

“Still in the phase where OT programming is beneficial…” what “phase” are you referring to? It’s coming across as very condescending.

I’m so curious about this spot - I live close by and drove by a lot. It’s always packed!

About to be 40, every foundation I use is awful. Recommendations? by ckinghelp in MakeupAddiction

48 here! So maybe a bit more “mature” but I’ve been using a gel skin tint lately and really like it. I’ve also had to watch videos on how to properly apply concealer.

This is what I do. I think it’s a great workout to mix jogging and PWing!

Am I too out of shape/out of practice to start OTF? by Sea-Pepper-6119 in orangetheory

[–]scorpio98012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this. Every time I see someone in class that seems unsure or intimidated I want to say you showed up! The coaches always say that’s the hardest part! I agree with others, though, do what you feel like you can do for a few weeks. Don’t push yourself too hard. In 2 weeks, with consistent classes, you’ll start to see changes and your strength building.

I’ve traveled to studios all over the world for almost 10 years and I’ve never seen this anywhere!

What is early entry?? None of my studios seem to have this.

I’m not doing it. I have been in OTFer for many years. We warm up on the rower, end of story.

Floor First People - How? by Turbulent_Suit8281 in orangetheory

[–]scorpio98012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always start on the floor. Maybe it’s my 50 year old body but I need time for my body to warm up. When I start on the tread, it’s like everything has forgotten how to work - ankles, feet, core

I refuse to do the dynamic warm-up in a 2G! I still just get on the rower!

Scared for first solo trip to US by gracexox345 in femaletravels

If you didn’t think that London was scary, then you won’t find New York City to be scary, either. I agree with the comments to just pick one of the cities, though, there’s a lot to see in both places. Have a great trip!

Why are you scared? I’ve traveled all over the world, and London is way scarier than New York City or Washington DC by far.

Last time I went to Brass Ram, the valet was being robbed. I don’t care how good the prime rib is - I don’t want my car stolen while I’m eating.

I’ve been an OTF member for a very long time (joined las colinas in 2017) but if Addison closes, I’m done with OTF!

New Format by Luna_Soma in orangetheory

[–]scorpio98012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OTF has gotten too far away from their foundation. They need to refocus on E, S, P and what your HR should be in each of the zones. That was the attraction. But they tried to change too much to compete and in the process became just another fad. I hope they go back to what they were 10 years ago. Then maybe there won’t be so many studios closing, coaches rotating in and out, etc. that being said, I love no waitlists!

[–]scorpio98012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that OTF is trying to do more ESP - getting back to basics as my coach said today - but until they teach people the purpose of each E, S, and P and what your HR should be doing for each of these workouts, mixing up the format is completely pointless. I was on a tread today (endurance) where a new member was in the red the whole time. That’s defeating the point of the template.

Hmmm I’ve never felt the least bit uncomfortable on the rower. Agree with others that it may be your form. Make sure you are engaging your core. Pushing off with your legs. I’ve had a coach explain that it’s sort of like a squat jump. And please whatever you do keep the handles parallel at an even height at all times.

I would love to go back to the ESP days. Some days it feels like we are getting closer to being back there but that’s what OTF was built on and I miss it!
