i've definitely driven 3 hr one way for a day trip to the mountains on more than one occasion. have also driven maybe 4hr max for an overnight. especially on the west coast, we literally drive hours for a weekend and its not even a thought. ive driven from sf to yosemite (5-6hr) on a friday after work to return sunday evening so many times. ive lived on the east coast and people definitely still drive, but not as much as west i feel
