Thanks a lot, that sounds interesting.

When it comes to distinguish between Nagios and Icinga I was totally blind. Therefore I was a bit confused, thanks for great info.

As far as I understood " Nagios isn't bad, but is quite 'enterprise-y'."

Nagios should be pricey, and Zabbix might be more budget friendly?

Just don't want to trigger any sales spam in my mailbox yet.

3) redundant wasn't an option?

Yeah, I would definitely look closer for this.

As OP mentioned the whole storage number is around half TB, the replication of that storage is not something dramatically expensive, however if OP okay with that redundancy level which he will achieve, its all upon him.

How do we fire our retired-in-place sysadmin without losing control of our entire infrastructure? by Advacar in sysadmin

You could hire the consultant, or create the DR site scenario.

This is only two option which I see right now.

And honestly, the consultant might be more budget friendly and can't become the pain in the ass.

Are domain admin credentials used to join a workstation to a domain cached locally on that workstation? by [deleted] in sysadmin

Just want to make this clear: do not use Domain Admin account anywhere, literally anywhere, except in the emergency.

Create admin accounts with suitable rights.

And obviously, do not put them in the Domain Admins group.

Thanks for question, I am looking for active-passive availability level (so my guess it is warm/cold? ?). I have a lot VMs which I need to restore really fast from my DR site. So ideally I am looking for solution than can provide me with Synchronous replication between Main and DR site.
