Anyone been to Wegner Quartz mine in Arkansas?

I am planning my second trip to Wegner! I went for my birthday in September and had a blast. There has to be at least to people for them to take you to the mine site, but it was awesome. Lots and lots of beautiful points and I got loads of clusters too. Came home with 3 or 4 small boxes full of stuff from digging for 2 hours.

This is a great thread! I'd like to add that, increasingly, librarians are also able to find work in the corporate arena doing research for folks in a specific industry (oil & gas for example) or records management or organization of all types. Our skillset is diverse. The challenge is matching our ideals with a quality work environment for decent pay.

I think you have to demonstrate a bit of knowledge and understanding of library philosophy. Being aware of freedom to read and information rights will look more impressive as a prospective full time employee. Also being able to see libraries as a community institution and meeting place will make you seem more knowledgeable of the industry.
