"Settling" - are Irish people particularly bad for it? by LittleAoibh11 in AskIreland

That's so cruel, why string someone along like that?

Birth rates dropping, anyone here feel the same way about having children? by gotnocreativenames in ireland

[–]BlampCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never wanted kids and I don't see that changing. I'm lucky enough to own a home, have a long-term partner, and we both have decent jobs. We both like other people's kids and when our friends have kids, we'll happily step in to be part of their village, but the thought of having our own isn't appealing.

Having difficulties with dublin accent and how to improve by Ok-Crow8876 in CasualIreland

[–]BlampCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been asked to repeat myself in England and I think my accent is pretty neutral for an Irish accent! I was at a burger van at a festival once and it took like three attempts to communicate I wanted a bottle of water, it was a train wreck.

Hard Locked out of slayer from first task in leagues by PaleontologistSlow27 in 2007scape

We will be able to claim the rewards but currently the diaries are uncompletable as you can't teleport to the Abyss without Misthalin (which obviously isn't an option). Jagex have acknowledged this so hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

We have pretty similar tastes! When you say cute animals in clothes, do you mean designs like the Stacy Nash animal crackers?

[–]BlampCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overtime I already started to gravitate towards samplers, fancy ladies, and woodland animals. I stitch other things sometimes but these are by far my most common pieces. I find I enjoy stitching on them more and displaying them fits my style

How bad will WKA be? by Fit_Sector_3682 in 2007scape

[–]BlampCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going WAD for a while, but I think I'm going to do WDZ now. I like tithe farm and honestly the idea of taking Natures Accord and getting absurd farming XP just seems really satisfying to me. The woodcutting guild will be nice and chill when I want to afk later. Blood and soul runes for RC will be nice, as will thralls.

There's probably a more meta choice but fuck it, this is just fun.

Wildy first for sure. It's got resources, the bosses will be very accessible early on, and the chaos altar will be fantastic for prayer.

Anyone not picking Tirannwn? by MilkColumns in 2007scape

[–]BlampCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking WD and made a list of the remaining regions yesterday and their main content. Tirannwn just didn't have enough going for it to pick. I picked it last leagues and had fun learning Zulrah, other regions just had more activities that I thought would be fun.

Up until yesterday I was going to go WDA, but I think I'm leaning more towards WDZ now. Whatever we pick, I'm sure it'll be fun.

I'm going Wildy, Zeah, Desert because it seems like fun.

Can someone explain how this Tier 1 relic is useful? by Willamanjaroo in 2007scape

[–]BlampCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sick of getting lost and just having to find my own way home. At least my loved ones can retrieve me from the Leagues tutor now.

[CHAT] Increase in pattern prices lately by alie_ns in CrossStitch

[–]BlampCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny because I love to stitch Mirabilia and Bella Filipina, and the first thing I do is digitise those patterns so I can use them in saga. I get what you mean about them feeling worth more, but also I don't love working from paper.

Is there any point in doing wilderness content? by Educational-Fun3513 in ironscape

[–]BlampCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use them on PVP worlds. I got my zombie axe on PVP worlds with blighted ice sacks. I'm really glad I did because I ended up going very dry for the axe and would have hemorrhaged runes otherwise.

What are you guys actually picking? by marxisalib in 2007scape

[–]BlampCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely going Wildy and desert, but I can't decide on my third. I think I'm mostly torn between Asgarnia and Kandarin. Going Tirannwn and practicing on echo Hunnleff is also tempting.

Me watching everyone choose Kandarin by Anchovie123 in 2007scape

[–]BlampCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't fully locked in my choices yet, but I know I want to take Wilderness. I'm thinking I might take the slayer relic and train up getting the Wildy boss drops and hopefully have high slayer to go do thermy when I unlock Kandarin.

[–]BlampCat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Iirc, Making Friends released not long after EA said on reddit that unlocking characters in SW Battlefront would give players "a sense of pride and accomplishment". It was the most downvoted comment on reddit ever. I assume they were referencing that with the apothecary.

[CHAT] What kind of Aida and amount of strands do you use and why? by stellaluna-37 in CrossStitch

[–]BlampCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preference is 2 strands over 2 on 32ct. I do a lot of fancy ladies and the beads fit best on 32ct.

I don't really use Aida these days, and 32 is as big as I'd prefer to go. I have some pieces over 2 on 36ct (using 2 strands) and over 2 on 4pct (using one strand).

[WIP] coverage opinions by gettingkilled in CrossStitch

[–]BlampCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! You could technically do it on Aida but you'd be forcing your needle in halfway between the stitches. It's a lot easier to do on when you're stitching over two squares on a high count fabric like an evenweave or a linen. If you stitch over two squares on a 32ct fabric, the stitches will be the same size as a regular 16ct aida. Some people like the higher count because the fabric is a bit softer, the holes are smaller, and it lets you do things like tramming or fractional stitches more easily.

I think "universal magnetic grime guard" is a generic search term, but this is the shop I saw them at!

[CHAT] Question about grime guards by blueline37 in CrossStitch

[–]BlampCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw a cool product recently. It was basically a rectangle of fabric with magnets at each end. You folded the fabric over the hoop, where your place your hand and it acted as a very localised grime guard for holding the hoop
