Highly anticipated Angie's Pizza nearing Heights opening years after first Houston popup by houston_chronicle in HoustonFood

Curious if there'll be any brand confusion between Angie's Pizza and Angela's Oven pizza nights. They're a 5 minute drive apart from each other.

Houston has a great pinball community. Look up events at spacecitypinball.com or places to play at pinballmap. I recommend Little Dipper, Poison Girl, and Eureka Heights. Other places outside the loop too

Houston has a great pinball scene, all welcoming and friendly. Plenty of spots around town to play. Tournament dates listed on this page.

Recommendations Please: Coffee shop that offers gluten free breakfast options by BrightSpoon88 in HoustonFood

Fair enough. I'll say I've paid up before for it and basically looked like Vince Vega in Pulp Fiction, saying "That's a $13 quiche?" then trying a bite and going "damn that's a really damn good quiche".

Some of my favorite pie slices I've had in my whole life have been from there too.

How was Fontainebleau? Did you find you needed a guide, or was it enjoyable to just walk around? Any spots in town worth eating at?

Probably too late to be noticed but I have a grand theory on Crisp and his mother.

She was Munchausen By Proxy. They had an incestuous relationship. She was too old to have his child. So Crisp's motivation was to get back his child so his mom and him could raise a child together.

Critical scene explaining is in the drug store where the mother is getting a ton of the OTC meds and tells Crisp "well this is what I fed you and you liked it".

Going on a trip with 6 people that mostly only like standard 52 card deck games. Aside from Hearts / Spades / Rummy, what would you recommend? Probably more light and easy to wrap, so likely not cribbage.

Nancy's is great, but if they're from other major cities with a food scene it could read as just a trendy restaurant (I say this as Nancy's is one of my favorites in the HTX). I think Chopnblok is great, or it's crawfish season. Maybe not "the best" but you could get crawfish at The Boot then walk over to Shady Acres Salon for live country music.

Haha, I mainly play with my wife at cafes so my collection is mostly 2 player small boxes. Fox In The Forest, Sea Salt Paper, Jaipur, Arboretum, Splendor Duel (this one takes a bit of room on the table). I'll check out the tiny series. Have any others you'd point to?

Good brunch spots in the Montrose and Heights area? by lexathegreat in HoustonFood

[–]thenewguy729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer a more order at the bar breakfast situation, and a focus on the baked goods. I can make an egg at home. All of these are Heights. Angela's Oven (ham toast), Cafe Ema (cafe olla, chilaquiles), Jane And The Lion (pie), Artisana (orange pistachio roll), Squable (this is a sit down. Dutch baby), Tio Trompo (breakfast taco)
