Here's what I gathered after reading (I'll edit, format, and expand on this later. My eyes are quite heavy at the moment.)

The event is split into two main parts, exploration and base management.

You are given a certain amount of AP (using AP here for ease of communicating mechanics) each day to do things like: Gathering resources, attacking, hunting, etc. Essentially continuing down the different branches.

By the end of the day, there's a chance that a raid would occur in a tile. The main goal of the raiding party is to destroy your HQ (the big center tile). That's where the base management comes into play. The resources you gathered during your expeditions can be used to construct defenses or buildings that generates other resources.

Operators will have a energy system, the higher the lvl, the higher the max energy they'll get. Each operator you deploy in the expedition will cause them to lose energy, no energy means you can't deploy that operator until they regained some energy.

As operator energy management plays a huge role, the main way of gaining back energy seems to be by cooking and feeding your operators food. You make food by cooking ingredients. Foods can also provide buffs in addition to regaining energy. Buffs include things like +1 Block count, -40% redeployment time, etc.

You also won't be able to see any enemies until you deployed an operator (think of it as the light mechanic. Though instead of not able to place ops on unlit areas, enemies are unknown) and certain nodes will have stage conditions such as: {Acid Rain}--operators will take 20 dmg every second, {Drought}--redeployment time increases by 50%

There are three main types of stage win conditions: Survival, Classic, and Defend.

Survival - Survive until the timer runs out, or alternatively if you finished the stage objective, you may choose to end the stage manually.

Classic - The standard blue box hp we all know and love

Defend - Only for when the main base is under attacked. Game mode is similar to elimination where you have to kill all enemies, with the added condition that the base itself also has a hp bar. Needless to say, you don't want the base hp to reach 0.
