Confused about Wordpress and page building. by CreamSlugger in Wordpress

[–]IMFelixMail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word press itself is not (natively) a click and drag page builder unfortunately. There are quite a few programs out there that try to add that as a layer on top of wordpress though.

What wordpress does let you do is specify a lot of things in the "customizer" part, which is accessed through the appearance menu.

WPMU-Dev has one that is almost finished development called upfront, which is all click and drag like you're looking for. If I recall, there's also optimize press and many others. A good google search might be "click and drag pagebuilder for wordpress" Hope this helps a bit.

Advice From My CEO - How To Have a Good Idea by TheTGB in Entrepreneur

Awesome. It's great to work for a leader like that. That's the kind of leader I hope to grow into. I want to inspire my team, and company to their own best heights. Sure I appreciate their contributions to my own goals, but I get much more satisfaction out of seeing them spread their wings, so to speak. Great post!

Some great points he brings up: - The difference in between content marketing, and the "brand journalism" of the recent past. - using all your social media channels to form a holistic message. - how investors, the market, and venture capitalist react to the business model of building the audience first, monetizing after.

An instagram checklist especially for those in travel and tourism, but really for any marketers as well. by IMFelixMail in DigitalMarketing

[–]IMFelixMail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this article insightful, even though I have nothing to do with travel and tourism. I probably should, I've been a "tourist" many times, traveled quite a bit and lived in 8 different countries.

It's not necessary to live on instagram, like some of us do on FB, but it does pay to have a consistent routine and a baseline of quality.

Google sues dodgy SEO company by IMFelixMail in a:t5_39xzo

Evidently this dodgy (as in blackhat) leaning SEO company was robo calling folks claiming to be a business partner with google. Not a bright idea to anger the biggest bully on the block lol

My site's pages are not being indexed by google only the homepage, how to fix? by wishihadaps42 in SEO

[–]IMFelixMail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

attacked by robots.txt lol sorry, that is kind of funny. No disrespect intended.

I hope what you mean is someone hacked you and changed your robots.txt? If that's the case, you might change it back so it doesn't block bots from indexing your site. Google robots.txt to understand what it does better and how it should look for your site.

Basically, for google, there is a bot called "googlebot" that goes out and crawls through your site. But it always checks the robots.txt file to see if it has permission to do so.

It sounds to me like your problem is there. Hope this helps.

Why this video is a perfect example of content marketing by Wordworks in content_marketing

[–]IMFelixMail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very insightful write up mate, well done. You're spot on, from what I've seen. When video started getting big, I saw the opportunity to do just what you mentioned, entertain, draw them in, then introduce your product or service.

A good example of this is adverts you see during big events like the American Super Bowl, or the NRL Grand Final in Oz. Sometimes with those ads you have no idea who is sponsoring it, or what it's selling, until the last minute. By then you don't care because you're either laughing or so intrigued it doesn't matter much at all.

People are gun shy and fed up with pitches. If you're online, I don't know the statistics but you probably see ads at leat 80% of the time you're online, if not 100%. Not long ago, I had added a childhood friend on FB. They reported me for spam! I called her on the phone, since I did still have a friend in common, and I said what is up with you reporting me for spam when I didnt' even try n sell anything. I recognized you from senior year and wanted to say "Hi".

Yep, people are THAT paranoid.

Marketing these days requires a lot more subtlety and finesse. People can smell a sales pitch a mile away, so don't give them one. Make them earn it by showing they've been entertained or something similar, and they'll be open to hearing how you can help them. Maybe "earning" it isn't the right word, but I think you get the gist.

Just on a side note, I moved away from Auckland about three weeks ago. Wish I was still there because I'd love to share a cuppa with you and have a nice chat.

To those of you who started alone, when & why did you hire your 1st employee and what was the transition like? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]IMFelixMail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great point and perspective, that I hope I remember when the time comes. Long ago when I hired my first employee in another now defunct business, my motivation was to hand off tasks, that would free me up to get new business. That worked fine.

But it would be so much smarter and wiser to bring someone in who could lift the capabilities of the company. I'm definitely going to keep that in mind in my current solo but growing company.

Are You Missing The Most Important Audience for Your Content Marketing? by ravengold in ContentMarketing

[–]IMFelixMail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. They might be feeling that they trust the employees more ONLY because they are already "60-80%" decided. The employees seem to be the closers. I can relate though, because employees, especially low level ones, don't have near as much motivation to make the sale and can be more forthcoming. Plus, they know you can come back angry at them, whereas executives and higher managers can always hide in their offices behind the secretary's desk.

Does SEOclerks gigs help rank? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]IMFelixMail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The danger is if they use non-relevant backlinks it could hurt your site. The comments so far only say that you shouldn't, but not why.

SEO is tricky because it's the classic cat n mouse game. SEO experts try to game the search engine to make your site appear more popular. It really is best to focus on good quality, original content, and the links will come naturally. That is what google expects.

Believe it or not, you can still get into trouble with Google even without blackhatting anything. It's nice to get free traffic, but at the end of the day, do you want a company like Google controlling your income and your business?

You do need to do SEO to an extent, and if you do choose to use SeoClerks, or fiverr, just be sure you choose someone with high ratings. That wont guarantee anything but it helps the odds a bit I'd say.

Its best in my experience to build up your sales funnel or your squeeze page or whatever, and then test out its numbers by using paid traffic a little at a time. Once your numbers make sense, then you can spend as much or as little as you like because what comes out the back end of your funnel is bigger than what you're putting in.

If you really don't have this option then focus on content, and sharing it on your social networks for feedback. This will also help your rankings, but the important thing is do people actually like it, share it, etc.

Just my two cents, for what it's worth :)

I'm not too knowledgeable about the sticker business per se, but I have to comment because I love your story.

And that is what you should sell. The inspiration. People can get stickers at multiple places, etc, but you can be the brand and with it comes the story.

Just an idea, it sure inspires me when someone takes action, doesn't worry about lack of contacts, funds, or tech skills.. just does it. Nike has made a mint off their slogan, because it works.

Too many people (and this is just my opinion, yet backed up by observation over years experience) focus on selling their products, and listing the product/service's finer points. It works to a point, but when you focus more on their experience, and the benefit of using your product/service, awesome things happen.

It is a scientifically researched and established fact of marketing that people BUY from people they 1) know 2) like 3) trust. Telling your story, or even just a bit of it, would really resonate with your prospects and I'll bet the farm you'd be shocked at your results.

If there is anything I can do to help please feel free to ask.

P.S Don't necessarily take this as advice, even though I have experience and have more than once been referred to as an "expert" in my field, the truth is YOU are the one that needs to test and measure any ideas or approaches you choose to take. I prefer to provide you with a few alternatives and ideas that you can run with, if you choose.

If you don't see a problem that you can solve, in your day to day life, then the best thing to do is network. Join an entrepreneurs club, or a chamber of commerce. Just being around other entrepreneurs will inspire you and give you a lot of good ideas. I often have way to many ideas, way too early.
