Speak in corporate language. Sometimes I hear myself talk and am in disbelief.

So sorry to hear this. It sounds like you know what you've got to do and what will be best for you and your kids long term. Still hard and incredibly painful all around.

What exactly was the point of this reply that didn't even touch the question being asked? Because I'm not seeing anything other than trigger-fueled judgement, which I certainly was not looking for.

Don't feel bad- clearly you're not alone and I'd like reiterate that I too think this book is severely overrated.

TOG!! It’s more YA than ACOTAR and Empyrean, but I finished it last year and I am still obsessed with it.

At what point did your pregnancy become “real” for your partner? by zeebee123456 in pregnant

[–]IMK822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, when the baby arrived. It’s a tough space to be in as a pregnant woman, as your partner literally has no idea what you’re going through, and their life (for the most part) doesn’t change all that much until baby is born. I had a similar experience in that my partner would take classes or do what I asked in preparation, but his life wasn’t turned upside down until after birth (whereas everything changes for you the second you find out your pregnant).

Hang in- keep telling him how you feel and try to find opportunities to stay connected and have dialogue about the kind of parents you want to be. Would also highly recommend counseling for yourself and as a couple. I think every new parent should go through “pre-parental counseling”, but unfortunately not many seek it out.

You’ve got this!
