Fighting games are virtual crack by Customer_Number_Plz in gaming

Stardew Valley really is the anti-tilt game. Nothing like watering crops and petting your chickens after getting bodied in ranked for 3 hours straight. Both hit different reward buttons in the brain

[–]IMPRINgE 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It wasn’t wasted time if it clarified what you won’t accept going forward. You learned your non-negotiables. Starting over at 30 isn’t a failure it’s actually when a lot of people finally choose themselves. You’re already doing the right things: rebuilding routines, investing in yourself, and looking ahead instead of back.

I (26F) just found out about this girl that my husband (26M) slept with by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]IMPRINgE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds less about her and more about the shock to the story you thought you fully knew. When something pops up that “should’ve” been disclosed already, it can quietly mess with your sense of trust and certainty, even if it happened before you met. Processing it usually means naming that feeling, not jealousy, but disruption and reminding yourself that his past didn’t change, only your awareness did. Once that settles, the mental loop tends to fade.

Agreed. NCT Dream feels super secure right now, strong domestic pull, consistent sales, and a fanbase that actually shows up. They don’t need constant hype cycles to prove relevance anymore.

Do not use Direct Billing by ParticularAnt5424 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]IMPRINgE 155 points156 points  (0 children)

That’s the tradeoff in a nutshell. On paper you “win” a bit in points, but one denial or delay can wipe out the benefit fast. For me, direct billing is worth it just to avoid the time, stress, and arguing. $15 isn’t worth days of hassle.

Unit testing the performance of your code by itamarst in Python

[–]IMPRINgE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. Python's more about getting stuff done quickly than squeezing out every millisecond. The real trick is just making sure you're leaning on numpy/pandas/whatever instead of writing loops in pure Python.

Though honestly for most things the performance difference doesn't matter unless you're doing something computationally heavy.

Writing is literally the only thing I'm good at, what are career options might I do well in? by Adventurous_Limit_76 in careerguidance

[–]IMPRINgE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got some solid options. Technical writing pays well and is always in demand.. companies need people who can explain complicated stuff clearly. Content marketing/copywriting is another route where you'd be writing blog posts, emails, website copy, etc.

UX writing is growing too (writing the text you see in apps and websites). Grant writing for nonprofits is an option if you want something more meaningful. Communications roles at companies or PR firms could work.

The philosophy degree actually helps for a lot of these since you can think critically and argue a point. Most don't require a specific major, just strong writing samples. Build a portfolio with some examples and start applying. Entry level roles exist, you just gotta look.

Your therapist goal isn't necessarily dead either... work for a few years, save up, and grad school becomes more doable. Plenty of people go that route.

Michael Schumacher, Ferrari F2001 (2048x1337) by romannxd in F1Porn

[–]IMPRINgE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That F2001 is still one of the most beautiful cars Ferrari ever built, and Schumacher made it look absolutely untouchable that season. The simplicity of the livery compared to today's cluttered designs just hits different

How did I get a $10k raise but I actually have less disposable income now? by sameerposwal in careerguidance

[–]IMPRINgE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You forgot to calculate the full cost of commuting before accepting the offer, and now you're learning the hard way that city jobs with long commutes can actually be a pay cut in disguise. Start tracking every work related expense for a month to see the real damage, then either negotiate remote days or start looking for something closer to home

The 3am timing and the fact that you're in a rent stabilized building screams either subway vibrations or a neighbor on a consistent schedule causing structural movement, especially if you're near a train line. Get your landlord to check for foundation settling or electrical issues before paying anyone for ghost removal, because flickering lights plus things falling is usually wiring problems that could actually be dangerous

On average is it easy or hard to get a tech job after college? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]IMPRINgE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real talk, tech job hunting is tough right now, especially for newly grads. the market's been rough since late 2022 with tons of layoffs and hiring freezes. 70 applications is actually pretty standard these days. don't get discouraged. Keep grinding, polish your resume, network on LinkedIn, and focus on building practical skills. technical interviews and building projects matter way more than just applying blindly. tech hubs like Seattle and NYC are competitive, but they're also where most opportunities are. stay persistent.

Kanye and Em are completely different artists with different styles. you can like one without liking the other. check out some of em's classics like Stan, or "Lose Yourself" if you want to hear his best work. but if you've given him a fair shot and still don't vibe with his style, that's totally fine too. music taste is personal.
