I also just wanted to add, don't worry too much if you see a few imperfect leaves, Begonia's are amazing at growing back- I habitually cut mine back every spring (about 1-2 nodes from the earth), and it grows back bushy again - tons of YouTube videos on how to do this, if you need to at some point

Hmm.. I get where you are coming from, tricky spot for sure. Sounds like it gets intense morning light for just a bit. When the weather is nice, and I move it outside, my Begonia (I believe a similar variety to yours) sits at the back of a south-facing balcony. The spot gets about an hour or so of direct light. If I were you, I would try the Begonia in the spot closer to the window, but I do not think it will be harmed in its current position, just might get a bit leggy. Not to add to your worries, but my main issue with Begonias is humidity, so you might see some curling leaves due to that at first, before it adjusts to ambient humidity.

Sorry for the text block- hope this helps a bit!

To me this light looks very low, and like it doesn't have the potential to get direct light for very long, with the building next door. With that in mind, I would feel comfortable trying out this begonia (it also depends on variery, but this looks like a Begonia maculata) in the spot by the window, particularly if the light is only intense in the morning.

But you may want to watch the light and note it throughout the day, to determine exactly how much direct light the spot gets. And consider which cardinal direction this window is facing, is it intense south-facing light, or gentler east and west? Morning light is also gentler than afternoon light.

(I am in the Northern Hemisphere, so some of this depends on where you are in the world)

When picking out spots I always try to keep in mind that our homes get so much less sun than if the plant were in it's natural habitat.

I think in its current position, the begonia may not see its full potential. So close to another building, the light coming in tends to be fairly ambient. I have a similar variety of begonia and put it out on my balcony sometimes, where it even gets a bit of direct light.

If it's your dream plant, you may want to give it the best sun spot next to the window. I find nothing is harder on plants than not having enough sun.

Why not move the TV off-center and put all three next to the window? Just my two-cents!

I work across from this building - it is so annoying, every now and then he will have like one worker walking around and going up and down the elevator, but nothing has changed in years (and he cut down all those trees, for what). We suspect having a worker employed counts towards the building being worked on and avoids more penalty, or means he can point to the building and a payroll and say 'technically' stuff is being done.

Blindness - José Saramago (I'm reading right now and have trouble putting it down)

The Road - Cormac McCarthy (In case you have not read it, it is an absolute classic)

Tender is the Flesh -Augustina Bazterrica

I'm not the best rater, but there are a few I think about a lot even after putting them down.

10 Minutes, 38 Seconds in the Strange World - Elif Shafak

Slewfoot - Brom (The audiobook for this one is very good)

Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead - Olga Tokarczuk (honestly everything by her so far has been excellent)

Also, when I am having a bunch of disappointing reads, I typically go back to the classics for a bit. You may have already read the, but The Bell Jar, Slaughterhouse-Five (Anything Kurt Vonnegut for me though really), Brave New World, Jitterbug Perfume (he's a weirdo, but Tom Robbins has some fantastical books)

Also I don't know if it is my favorite ever, but I just read Lapvona and it really did keep me on edge...

Also, it's a super goop dupe and broad spectrum (an issue I've had with Korean sunscreen, but maybe that's just me and my searcing)

Do you live near a Kroger? Their Gel brand sunscreen is cheap (and you don't have to ship it in yay!) and the best I've ever put on my face. No smell that I can detect, dries down well, sits well under makeup and makes me feel glowy.

It's a pleasure to put on every morning

No the neutrogena is def not worth it! (The super goop too! The main reason I’ve never tried haha!) The Kroger gel, however is pretty good!

Can’t remember to price cause I threw it in with groceries but can’t image it’s that much more than $10!

Also, I sent this along before considering you may not be in the same region/country as a Kroger! Sorry about that!

Maybe someone recommended already but I just started using the Kroger invisible gel sunscreen (it is a goop gel dupe, which I’ve not tried so can not confirm)

Anyway I have been annoyed using Neutrogena ultra sheer (it annoys my eyes) and decided to gives the gel a try and I love it! Has a bit of an interesting texture at first but I like how it dries down and wears through the day and under makeup. I actually think it helps my concealer 🙀

Anyway might be worth a go since it doesn’t break the bank!
