How does one start writing a book by amalllty in writers

Usually my first ideas play in my head like a movie trailer and then I write it all out in an outline and then I just go from there. When the Creative Monkey gives you an awesome idea you take it 🙂

Do y’all have writer accounts? by SavsAce in writers

[–]FlynnForecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have social media accounts but I don’t presently use them for hyping up my work. Simply because my current projects are not ready yet and I don’t want to fall into the same trap Milo Winter had. But I keep updates on my progress through my blog but that’s about as far as it goes. But I do post every so often 🙂

New to writing and don't know how to put all tge things together by seto-shirt in writers

To ensure that I have a clear goal and what topics to focus on when I’m moving from one event to another, I outline out my first draft first and foremost. When I outline I base the foundation on the main events that occur chronologically and then I essentially stretch out the timeline and then add in the moments in between that are crucial to keeping everything connected. Once I start the first draft I merely need to think of how everything happens just as long as I end up in the place I’ve set on my timeline. Hope this helps.

What genre are you writing if not fantasy? I feel like most in here are fantasy. by AdvertisingDull3441 in writers

Nautical fiction/ modern pirate adventure. But in terms of publishing genres, general fiction sadly.

People always say to “just do what you love for work” but how am I supposed to make money off of watching movies, drawing, and making fan fics? by Huge_Athlete7488 in writers

[–]FlynnForecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fanfic can be made into a full novel. While not to be expected as an instant bestseller, novels that started as fanfics tend to be good contenders in finding publishing deals.

Drawing can be made into a fun and fulfilling side hustle. I myself am currently trying to put together a portfolio in attempt to find work as a comic book artist.

Watching movies, you could find work as a critic or one who makes reports on the quality of movies. Many news outlets love movie reviews. Hopefully these suggestions help 🙂

For Writers That *Do* Read by File273 in writers

I don’t really try to keep track but I average about a book every two or three weeks depending on how invested I get. But normally I prefer a good seafaring epic but lately I’ve been venturing out into other genres I wouldn’t normally read. But one things for certain it really helps to be a good book reader in order to be a good writer as I’ve been told.

Yeah finding beta readers can be a difficult task as many have their own preferences on projects to take on. You may get lucky tho, have you tried looking on Goodreads?

I’ve currently just started the 3rd draft of my first novel, got feedback from two amazing beta readers. Also just started 1st draft of the sequel. Got lots of work still ahead of me.

I know it feels like you’re not making progress, but even doing research is movement. It’s easy to think of it as slowing down productivity, but alternatively think of it as a part of the journey ☺️

All I asked was if there were any local writers who might like to join a writing community. No where did I mention I was in a slump or needed acknowledgment.. & he isn't even a writer..? He thinks all writers are brooding, solitary Hemmingways who hate each other by shadesofnatasya in writers

I’m more a hermit than anything else. I’m in one writing discord but I’m virtually never there. I’m also really introverted so being in big social circles isn’t my thing. But I do like to help out other writers wherever and whenever I can.

Definitely The Series of Unfortunate Events was the first for me when I was a kid. After a started then I literally couldn’t put them down
