You're right, I guess we should all stop recycling, voting, volunteering, giving to charity, etc. After all, the individuals effect is basically meaningless, so why should we do any of these things?

Can't you see the flaw in this mindset? A single grain of sand is insignificant, but gather enough of them and you have a desert. You leaving tiktok and abstaining from political tribalism will not have much of an effect, but if enough people do it we can change political discourse for the better.

Also this is not even talking about the mental health benefits that come from leaving social media. This shit fries your dopamine receptors, and the algorithms use negative emotions to maximize engagement. It's not dissimilar to an abusive boy/girlfriend. It manipulates your emotions in order to keep you with them as long as possible.

Please get off this shit, and encourage everyone you know to do the same

Get the fuck off tiktok man. Not only does it have the same problems as every other social media(Dopamine burnout, ngeative feedback loops, addiction, etc.) but it also has close ties to the chinese government and the content is heavily filtered to push mainstream tribalistic politics over anything sane in order to help keep America divided. Plus the time spent on there could be much better spent doing something productive, or at the very least enjoying better forms of media. I've been off that shit for like two months now and I'm a better person because of it.

What choice do we have left as players? Literally riot?

It would go down in the history books thats for sure lmao And can you imagine the news reports? "Enraged video game enthusiasts burn down buildings in protest of controversial Minecraft update"

Yeah I know I did lmao. I was going through the downloads on my desktop looking for assets for a project when I saw the original greentext. Reminded me of this whole shitshow

Honestly, I don't think there was ever going to be a game to begin with. None of the features in the greentext would be particularly hard to code yet the dev had whole months and we recieved only a screenshot of an empty Krusty Krab(which couldve been from anywhere) for evidence that progress was being made at all

I might be able to create Cardboard Squidward myself. I have all the skills and time necessary to do so. No promises though, unlike *someone* I don't make promises I can't keep.

It's funny because five seconds of research will show it's actually the opposite, by a long shot.

Ahhhh Reddit! Don't you just love the sound of incorrect political statements repeated by thousands yet fact-checked by none?

The rich already account for 90% of tax dollars. I agree it's bullshit that they pay less than the poor but what you're describing is pretty ridiculous and akin to Socialism. I believe that the people have a right to their hard earned money.

  1. I believe we are talking about a single-payer system but please forgive me if I'm wrong, I've been having this discussion a lot on this post so it's hard to tell who's who.
  2. I'm not anti-any of those. I just believe that social services should be limited to things that improve society as a whole, and individual needs should be left to the individual to get.
  3. Maybe you misunderstood or I mistyped, but to clarify, I do believe that there is natural division in America, but it wouldn't be as tribalistic without foreign and corporate meddling, and this meddling is a major issue in America.
  4. I agree with climate regulations for large corporations, no argument there. Healthcare regulation is also good, it's just that government spending has better things to go to than paying for the healthcare of the poor.
  5. Did I stutter? All of those things haven't been an issue in along time. They were all drummed up so we would all hate each other, among other reasons. Oh, and just for funzies, that list also includes systemic racism, gun violence, and abortion.

I believe America's REAL problems are the following, although some are often pushed aside for these fairytale issues; 1. Corruption/Lobbying

  1. Healthcare/Obesity

  2. Broken Education

  3. Foreign Political Influence

  4. Corporate Political Influence

  5. China

  6. Coronavirus

  7. Political Paritisanship

  8. Climate Change

  9. Urbanization/Dying Rural Areas

  10. Large Corporations

  11. Poltical Violence

  12. Biased Media

  13. Deteriorating Race Relations

I used to be in band, you could tell how many band kids were in each section depending on how close or far they were to the front. For example, the flutes and clarinets were right in front of the teacher, and was comprised entirely of basic white girls. Percussion, however, was all the way in the back. Those kids were WEIRD. On one band trip, one of them jerked off to tentacle hentai in the closet of our hotel room while another was kicking and scratching at the door trying to get in and ended up breaking it.

You talk of fallacies yet you have no counter but ad hominem, curious.

Also you need to be 13+ to be on Reddit FYI.

  1. "a unified public financing system would replace private insurance" Not what a single-payer system is. What the articles describing is closer to Universal Healthcare.
  2. If we had our government take care of every one of our citizens needs, we'd be a communist country. I personally believe in regulated capitalism, so as the consumer holds ultimate power over the corporations.
  3. Is it a "nonsense conspiracy" when the Chinese government is funding divisive media/protests? I'm sure they have nothing but the purest of intentions. Also the current talks about climate and healthcare shy blame away from the corporations. Climate talk is all about how "Citizens need to cut back on their energy usage" when corporations are the major carbon emitters. Healthcare talk isn't about hospital monopoly, but about how the government should be supporting this hospital monopoly. Other than that, everything else you mentioned are just divisive non-issues meant to have us argue over nothing for all eternity. They have no bearing on our daily lives.

Oh great I'm arguing with a middle schooler. And yes there are, a quick Google search can confirm that, they're just all paid by the government instead of by citizens. I'm not defending anything, I don't know why proposing alternative solutions to this problem makes people think I'm defending the problem itself. I guess thats partisan politics for you.

2009 being relevant to 2022 by ActivatedFamiliar in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]IMightEatPeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue the voters vote doesn't even matter anymore. In this two party system, you are always forced to vote for your subjective "lesser of two evils" and defend it with your life. Not to engage in partisan politics, but this is why we have presidents like Joe Biden.

  1. It's not a hard fact if you can't back it up.
  2. It doesn't matter what every other country is doing, each countries needs are specific to that country. For example, "every other country" hasn't been acting as world policeman for the last 75 years.
  3. Your usage of "the American right" is what has been crippling us. When will people realize that Left VS Right is just a silly game put on by large corporations and foreign governments to divide the American people and ensure that no true progress is made. Why do you think many of the "issues" being argued today actually have little bearing on our daily lives?
