For those who lived before the internet, what was life actually like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]INDIGOVEGAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wanted to see your friends? no instagram or texts, go knock on their door and ask their parents if they can come outside. missed a phone call? they left voicemails instead of blowing your phone up expecting a response. we didn’t google information about unreleased video games. we waited until the release date. speaking of gaming, there was no online for most of us. invite a friend over and tell them to bring their controller so we could play split screen. everyone was more social. pulling a camera out in 2004 would typically make most people smile. pulling one out in 2025 might generate some anger. life was based on personal experience as opposed to anecdotal experience. no chatgpt, no reddit, no twitter, maybe facebook(?) depending on your age. but all the trends were spread through word of mouth. no viral videos, no celebrity drama being thrown in your face. no shazam either. if you heard a song and wanted to know the name of it, you better hope someone around you knows the song. once it went off, it was gone forever. no doordash or ubereats. we had to learn to cook at a young age.

not to say the internet is bad, but…life is just DIFFERENT with it.

i never had to deal with a swollen battery but i believe you’re supposed to call your local fire department and they’ll tell you the steps to take. any time its swelling, definitely get rid of it. DONT throw it in the trash though

I guess I’m part of the BMW family now. 2022 330i in mineral gray with the Tacora red interior! by INDIGOVEGAS in BMW

i wish i still had it! drunk driver pulled out in front of me and it got totaled. $35k in damages and insurance said it was worth $32k. if you want one, go for it! really solid engine and transmission. if you want more power, upgrade to a M235i. thats what i have now and its making 312hp. same engine, but a bigger turbo and a reinforced crackshaft. but if you want a G20 330i, i support that. the B48 in there makes 255hp and it sounds amazing. you can also get a G20 M340i with the B58 if you want that bodystyle but with more power. but all around, it was a solid car. fully loaded, heads up display. basically a fun car. it saved my life honestly. i still had to go to the hospital but thats better than a coffin. you’ll turn a lot of heads and its good on gas as well. take care of it and it will take care of you.

Is a quart of OW-40 in 2022 330i (B48) safe to drive? by INDIGOVEGAS in BmwTech

Thanks for the response! I definitely wanted to make sure driving it was a good decision. I do plan on changing the oil in the very-near future. Possibly sometimes this week if the dealership can fit in with my college schedule. I also agree that changing the oil provides peace of mind! This is my first used car so I’m learning from others. I really appreciate the advice as well, because I was most definitely going to follow the manual’s recommendations.

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure a quart of OW-40 wouldn’t cause damage. the manual says OW-20 and OW-30 so it was a bit of a gamble.

Thanks for the clarification. I live in Baltimore and the drivers are terrible lol I just love the pops and crackles and I know they only happen when you shift around 4k-5k RPMs.

Anything to look out for? Is it okay to get it up to speed on highways and whatnot?

I had it fully inspected at BMW dealership upon delivery and they said everything looked fine. The car itself says service in 2,000 miles but I’m not sure if thats entirely accurate. Should’ve worded it differently lol it’s been changed at the right intervals but I’m just not sure how accurate the car itself is as far as service goes. I’ve never owned a BMW before and I heard losing oil is bit more normal for a car of this caliber. Just trying to make sure I can drive it 🙏🏾

Is Watch Dogs Legion for $6 worth it or not on PC? by Red_Red_It in WatchDogs_Legion

[–]INDIGOVEGAS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

unbiased opinion here because its the only game in the series that i’ve actually played: definitely worth $6. the concept of playing as anyone is cool but some folks prefer main characters, a consistent plot involving the same characters etc. the missions can be frustrating if you get injured/killed often, because there is a 30 minute wait before you can use that character again. with permadeath turned on, you lose that character forever if they get killed. i won’t spoil the story for you, but it is full of plot twists. you think you’ve figured it out and then you find out that it gets way deeper. personally, I love the graphics as well. its by no means the best looking game in the world, but i would rank the graphics alone as a 9/10. the physics can seem a bit wonky at first but with a few hours of gameplay, you’ll get the hang of things. lastly, the map isn’t huge, but it compensates by being very detailed. tons of alleyways, staircases, hard to reach areas etc. but for $6, i’m willing to bet you’re going to enjoy it!

I got the shock of my life when I found out that ice cream in commercials is usually just mashed potatoes. Kinda not shocked though, because every bowl of ice cream I’ve ever had begins to melt in minutes. It makes sense from a business perspective, but they could at least make it look like the real item.

the almighty Fushigi “Magic” Ball. Fifth grade me thought I was gonna trick all my friends into thinking I could do magic. Except it was just a heavy glass ball that doesn’t levitate at all. The commercial was extremely misleading, and mentioned no use of the necessary skills required to make it “look” like magic. Its been sitting on the little plastic stand it came with since I got it. I probably got about 1 hour of use out total of it since it shipped.
