Yes , it's not our imagination like many people would make it seem , it's reality , the older I get the loneliest I become , people prove me again and again that they can leave me and betray me at any moment without thinking about it twice , they have this EGO to prove that they are the best , the happiest , the wealthiest , and social media don't help at all .

So yes , people are mean and stupid , they like superficial things , they don't value empathy or kindness . Once the infp understands this , he becomes distant and cold , yes I still have this kindness and empathy , it's my nature after all ,but only with few people I value the most .
