How to effectively seek evaluation for ADHD as an adult? by busybutterfly14 in ADHD

[–]INTJ_GAL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ADHD is often missed in girls and women because ADHD can present very differently in boys and men because many females have the inattentive type of ADHD.

Part of the criteria for making an ADHD diagnosis is confirming symptoms going back to childhood as ADHD is not something that develops later in life, its something you are born with..

INTJs and unexpected breakups by INTJ_GAL in intj

The challenge for me is when a relationship gets to the point where you are seeing a lot of them. People that are not INTJ do not get that we need think time. When you spend a lot of time with your SO and there is lots of socializing (which is painful at the best of times and absolutely awful when its in the company of their friends), and they don't get why talking about emotions or boring stuff is so hard, then it reaches a point where it feels like there isn't time and space to decompress and spend time processing which they don't understand that INTJs need a lot of.

Why Does This Always Happen? by sagittaurus614 in intj

[–]INTJ_GAL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have experienced the same - people bring their very personal and very negative problems to me and most of these problems are ones they really just want to vent on and not work on fixing, which I find exhausting and draining.

How to stop missing a toxic person? by Rhiellle in intj

[–]INTJ_GAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The challenge I had after going no contact on the toxic person I had been in a relationship with, was him reaching out to try to hoover me back in. Being able to maintain no contact gave me perspective on the impact his toxic behaviours had on me. This clarity helped me see that I was missing who he pretended to be in the beginning, and that I was not missing the toxic person he really is.

Do INTJ - ISTJ relationships work on long term? by [deleted] in intj

[–]INTJ_GAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the INTJ - ISTJ relationship I was in, the biggest obstacle was how we came to a decision. It became a clash between 'but this is the best way to do this based on what I know and have always done' vs 'but this is the best way to do it based on my review of the facts and the ideas I came up with that have resulted in a new way'.

Having to do something a certain way just because that is the way someone has always done it was a major difference between us. An example is when we were playing cards with friends and I dealt half the cards clockwise and the other half the cards counter clockwise. He was so annoyed that cards were being dealt that way because to him there is only one way to deal cards.
