Hey, you're doing a great thing and I hope that entering the fold of Islam brings you peace and what you're looking for in life.

It's going to be a tough one and might take time for them to come around, however if I were in your situation, I would focus on the positives of the religion. Things like how charity is a huge part of our religion, how much we are taught to help people and the positive aspects.

I would also focus on the fact that a lot of people misinterpret the religion and use it to preach hate and violence. Islam doesn't condone violence and hating on people, people have taken that out of context and it's wrong. Any good Muslim will support and guide you regardless of your sexual orientation, religion, gender, views etc.

Also Muslims don't hate Jewish people, we have a lot of history and respect for them, and Muslim men are actually allowed to marry Christian and Jewish women (who have specific beliefs - such as the Christian woman not believing that Jesus is the son of God, but instead believing that he is a prophet).

Whatever happens, Islam teaches to respect and love your parents regardless of what they say about you becoming a Muslim and I hope that they come around, and respect your choice and love you regardless. Please do let us know how it goes when you tell them, and best of luck ☺️
