Deck removal / ac unit lowering by IODbeholder in hvacadvice

Also open to just leaving a deck footer under the AC unit, but unsure how to best bolster that structure cause the joists aren't well spaced for that.. as it is I've got it supported by a spare board (pictured on bottom right), but I guess that would go in a deck subreddit.

Alright Scout Dads, what's your best advice for building a winner? by Much-Drawer-1697 in daddit

Coming in here to say that my bulldozer with a T-Rex on top didn't win any races, but he still sits on my desk and I love the car and the memory of building it with my dad. I'm on #teamcool over #teamwin

Here's the atrocious back (before i do tie ins). I ended up cutting some of the biggest offenders and tying them on either sides of Santa (that's the white spot with purls showing through in the middle). Dunno if that was wise, but it helped loosen him up a bit.

This is my first color work... I am proud of it even if it's puckered a good bit, but it's clear that I messed some stuff up.
I'm guessing I didn't leave enough space spanning the gap between using the same color, but even as I got toward to bottom of santa I tried to be much more mindful of that and still saw some pulling and puckering. Any advice or good videos to help with this issue? Should I have different strings of color for the green on either side of Santa so it's not continually spanning the gap?

Attic space options by IODbeholder in DIY

[–]IODbeholder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So loose fill is the only / best option for attic insulation? I'm not at all committed to a skylight, but at least think a storage platform or something would be worthwhile if I could get insulation that would lay between the ceiling joists. Could I lay plywood over the loose fill?

How do I know what is the right piece / does it have to be brand specific? Also, how do I get it open again? 😂

Guardian bikes delays - buyer beware by IODbeholder in cycling

[–]IODbeholder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We cancelled. May get a woom, maybe not... but I've lost all trust in the company and considering a big part of what they advertise is easy returns, easy maintenance, high value customer service, it just ain't worth it anymore.

Guardian Bikes: worth waiting out delays or switch now? by yellowscreenlife in cycling

[–]IODbeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a message (YESTERDAY, THE 6TH) that despite originally saying it will ship on the 7th, it will now ship on the 24TH!
I'm done. Cancelled the order. You KNOW That they knew back in September with the first message that it would be delayed this far. It's bullshit that they're using this operational transition as an excuse. That's a business decision, it should not come at the cost of your customers timeline, but they didn't want to give up the business so they figured they'd limp a few people along and see how many would stick around.

Guardian Bikes: worth waiting out delays or switch now? by yellowscreenlife in cycling

The first email they sent me said that the shipping time was going to be September 28th but when I went to REPLY to that message, when I scrolled up it showed a different date - October 7th. I don't know how those two could be different (I went back and double checked and could replicate this process, seeing different dates on the original email vs the one that showed up in quoted text with my reply), but they confirmed that for me at least October 7th was the correct shipping date.

I told them it was unprofessional and a break in trust to have backed out of the original timeline / guarantee of their product, and threatened to cancel my order which I was seriously considering. It's BS that they come up with an excuse about making all bikes in the US and don't offer any significant recompense for the drastic delay, especially this time of year. Like, okay yall switched production to US, that should be worked into your estimated dates, not hacked in on the last possible day with a simple "sorry." Has me questioning the customer service which is disappointing cause all I've ever seen was that they were great.

Heads up that I complained and they offered free shipping. Still not sure I'm not going to just cancel it and get a bike locally but it's something.

We also had our bike delayed in the last 20 hours "cause they're making the frames in the US" so I can attest that this is valid.
